Actually, Sumo, articles about ALL marriages are usually accompanied by pics of young, attractive people, and reports of weddings invariably describe the brides as “beautiful”.

This once prompted a horribly sexist comedian (can’t remember who) to ask “If all brides are beautiful, where the hell do all the ugly wives come from?”

Has anyone noticed that most articles on same-sex marriage normally show pictures of young, attractive, lesbian women? [Note the photos in this article.] I assume this is meant to make the idea less threatening to homophobic male law-makers. Pictures of middle aged, balding, fat guys in a lip lock might have to much of a cringe factor. I fully support same-sex unions but dislike “spin” no matter which side of the argument is presenting it.

As long as Catholics the world over are willing to be lead in matters of relationships by the pope – a man who, by definition, has never had a relationship of any kind and therefore can know nothing about how it feels to have one – then their opinions are always going to be blinkered at best, and downright stupid more usually.

The sooner we can kick these silly superstitions out of modern life, the better for all mankind !!

What’s ironic (sadly so) is how few people seem to realize that the arguments being used against same-sex marriage are essentially identical to those used against interracial marriage.
