ONE THING that always puzzles people in the West is why we allow mosques to proliferate in our own liberal democracies when Islamic countries forbid the establishment of churches, and the spread of other faiths in theirs.

The answer’s simple, according to simpleton – pardon – prominent Muslim commentator Dr Zakir Naik:
In our country we cannot allow preaching of other religions because we know for sure that only Islam is the right religion … Non-Muslims are no doubt experts in science and technology but in matters of religion we are the experts.
So how far does this expertise stretch?
On the website Islamic Voice Dr Naik provides an answer to the following question:
Science tells us that whatever one eats has an effect on one’s behaviour. Why does then Islam allow Muslims to eat non-vegetarian food, since eating of animals could make a person violent?
Replied Dr Naik, a doctor of medicine, by the way, and President of the Islamic Research Foundation:
Only eating of herbivorous animals is allowed by Islam. I agree that, what a person eats has an effect on his behaviour. This is one of the reasons why Islam prohibits the eating of carnivorous animals like lions, tigers, leopards, etc who are violent and ferocious. The consumption of the meat of such animals would probably make a person violent and ferocious.
Unless, of course, they got eaten first.
Dr Naik elaborates:
Islam only allows the eating of herbivorous animals like goats, cattle, sheep, etc that are peaceful and docile. We Muslims eat peaceful and docile animals because we are peace-loving and non-violent people.

Why don’t people blame themselves when they are violent. That would be a new thing. Taken into account background and upbringing and circumstances ie I woule like to kill a few people. I just choose not to – today.
Have met violent vegetarians and nice blokes who eat a field of pigs and cows each morning.
My Godson gets violent if he is given pizza, McDonalds or milk products. But then he is autistic and surounded by professionals who would make you want to rip their heads off. Likes his meat and two veg though.
Muslims very unsympathetic if people have problems or born with disabilities. Believe it is punishment from God. Dreaful situation where mum gave birth to baby prematurely with problems. Stayed with her baby in the incubator. life and death situation. Her husband and family abandoned her and treated her as if she was God forsaken til baby pulled through. Disgusting. She was chastised on top of watching her baby nearly die.

Er, well, it doesn’t puzzle me, Barry. The reason we “allow” mosques is that we aren’t mean-spirited authoritarian nutcases like the bloke in the article!
It puzzles me why anyone would think banning mosques would be a reasonable response to religious oppression in other countries.
It’s the kind of logic that led people to say, “why should we let atheists go around talking freely when in Albania they are repressing religion?”!

well, not much of you people know what the correct religion is, if you just took a minute of your life to realize the right religion, islam.you could match up everthing that is happening in the world and what happened and everything makes sense
