YOUTUBE, which has lately been getting a lot of flak from religious zealots, is standing its ground against outraged Catholics over a series of videos posted by a young Canadian.

YouTube, however, “age-gated” his videos; you now have to be over 18 to watch them.

Well, you could – until a few hours ago, when the Quebec teenager named Dominique, who tags himself “fsmdude,” suddenly removed the 40 videos featuring him desecrating communion wafers. The removal came after his name, address, the name of his school and the church from which he obtained the “holy” crackers was revealed on YouTube. But the teenager has not apologised.

According to this report, Dominique’s videos, seen by more than 20,000 viewers, show the wafers being burned, hammered, placed in a blender, fed to animals, flushed down a toilet, and ignited with a compound of saltpetre and sugar.

We assume that Dominique was inspired by the Great Corpus Crispie Kerfuffle that broke out earlier this year after an American university student kidnapped a consecrated wafer and held it hostage for a week.

Said Dominique in one video:

If they want blasphemy, we’ll give them blasphemy.

The Toronto-based Catholic Civil Rights League claims the videos were “hate speech.” The organisation and thousands of its supporters petitioned YouTube officials to remove what they claim were sacrilegious videos.

The short clips were shut down for a few hours in early October, but soon returned.

Bill Donohue, President of the New York-based Catholic League who recently accused Fox’s Family Guy of insulting gay priests, insists the Quebec teenager’s videos violate YouTube’s “community standards,” which do not permit hate speech.

Dominique, in response to a series of videos that Catholics have put on YouTube to counter his videos, said he was not attacking the religion, but satirising the concept of transubstantiation – the Catholic belief that the wafer and wine at Communion become the literal body and blood of Christ.

I’m attacking the belief that this thing, this cracker, is someone that can feel pain.. It’s just an object you can eat.

We were about to post one of Dominique’s more inventive desecrations, but instead you’ll have to put up with Bill Donohue. He’s just as funny!

  1. Donohue comparing cracker abuse to urinating on a Holocaust memorial. Classy guy. You might as well argue that burning a lucky rabbit’s foot is as offensive as kicking over gravestones. It isn’t hatred. It isn’t disrespect for the deceased. It isn’t lessening a tragedy. It isn’t discrimination. Bill Donohue, may I be the 7,452,973rd person to tell you: “STFU”.

  2. MAD!!!!
Desecrating a piece of toast on camera.
What about the other stuff on Youtube the church should object to such as cruelty to animals – throwing pet in dryer and switching it on. Filming live rabbits being put in snake or dog pits. or “HappySlapper” shots. As usual the church is silent. Save Our wafers!!!

Typical!!! ITS A PIECE OF flour and water. NOT THE BODY OF CHRIST BEING FLUSHD DOWN THE LOO. God you have been flushing people’s lives down the loo for centuries. Pious for Saint or not? Don’t meantion the Nazis or the Spanish Inquisition.

  3. Speaking as a member of a worldwide cult whose private bank still won’t tell the relevant authorities if it has Nazi war loot I’m sure Donahue’s views on the Holocaust are…well, total nonsense, basically.
Actually, radical atheists may be missing a trick with this cracker business. Anyone remember a spate of ‘Baby Jesus kidnappings’ in the late 1980’s – early 1990’s? The trick was, nab the Baby Jesus out of a church nativity scene, then threaten to destroy it unless the church donated cash to a charity, etc. Got so bad in Italy that in some places they were locking the churches in daytime around Xmas.
    Now, presumably, if you ‘kidnap’ a cracker……no, honestly,joking, just a thought…..joking, JOKING!!!

  4. I’m a Roman Catholic … whether you approve of the Catholic teachings or not, its up to you. However, in the END and there will be an END, when you face your judgement and there will be a judgement, you are on your own! Don’t expect to be in God’s glory by descrating the Body of Christ, rather you will be asking for his mercy, because Hell isn’t all that!

May God Have Mercy On All of Us!
