ALL together now …. Awww!

Ailing veteran US evangelist Billy Graham, 90 and not long for this world, is not best pleased with Barack Obama’s liberal agenda, particular in regard to abortion and gay rights and he will not be counselling the President-elect.

Billy Graham

His evangelist son Franklin Graham said in an interview that his father’s mind remains sharp even as his body continues to fail. But the preacher who has counseled every president beginning with Eisenhower was not in line to mentor Obama.

Said Franklin, who now heads the Charlotte-based Billy Graham Evangelistic Association:

Those positions that he holds that are contrary to Biblical teaching, I hope that God will change his heart.

President-elect Obama heard our position. And I told him that this was very difficult for us … It’s a moral issue that we just can’t back down on.

Meanwhile, we learn today that Focus on the Family founder and Class A bigot, James Dobson, is “in the midst of a grieving process” since Obama’s election.

The grieving James Dobson

The homophobic “pro-lifer” snivelled:

I’m not grieving over Barack Obama’s victory, but over the loss of things that I’ve fought for for 35 years.

Dobson said he understands the excitement over election of the country’s first black president and that he wished he could have voted for Obama for that reason.

He added:

But to be honest, I have to say that his win causes me enormous concern, because he will be the most committed pro-abortion president in our history, even supporting infanticide for babies who survive botched abortions. He’s in favor of much of the homosexual agenda, and he’s going to appoint the most liberal justices to the Supreme Court, perhaps, that we’ve ever had. So there are many reasons why I’m struggling today over the likely path that nation has taken.

  1. WTF do most people care about these bigots’ opinions?

  2. P.S. I was going to put ‘bigotses’, but then I thought it would sound too much like Smeagol.

  3. Boo hoo for traditional bigots. I think it’s a step forward if Barack doesn’t want their advice on policy. Change was his big word so I hope he plans on dragging the country into the new millennium with big change in mind. I know he’s going to have a fight on his hands every step of the way but if he wasn’t up to the challenge, he wouldn’t have run.

It’s going to be an interesting four years.

I guess he built his house on sand. That’s no surprise to me, but I wonder if he realizes it.

If all he is mourning is his loss of power, the loss of rubbing his religious policies all over America’s face, then may he cry, wither and enjoy his ride to oblivion. He’s earned it.

On the other hand, I hope Mr. Dobson turns into a real man of integrity, abandons his foolish religious ideas and finally does something to repair all the damage he’s done while misleading and confusing people all these years. I highly doubt that it will happen, but I’ve seen some surprising things in my lifetime.

  5. Dobson is going to have a pretty shit day today in Chicago, as it happens.
He’s due to pick up an award tonight from an outfit called the Radio Hall of Fame, which hasn’t pleased the numerous organisations who think that’s the dumbest, most inappropriate thing since Kissinger got the Nobel Peace Prize.
A protest of LGBT organisations is going to be waiting right outside the venue.

Wow – give the guy a break. You dare use this language about him because he dares to stand for what he believes? That’s the problem with this world. Don’t back mouth the homosexuals lifestyle or take a stand against abortions – but YOU can take hard hits against born again Christians who take their stand for Jesus Christ??? Again, I say WOW!I guess what’s good for the goose is NOT good for the ganders, in your books! One way or the highway for you.

  7. Killing babies is wrong. Men w/ men wrong. Women w/ women wrong. We will all see for ourselves after we die. Love the sinner hate the sin. Point it out with love.

You can’t see the hypocrisy in your reply? I hope you blindness gets better.

  11. How would you like to have been aborted? Some caring mother gave you a proper birth and grew you up through your adolescence years into the nice person you are today. You are fortunate only because your mother was a pro-lifer. Do thank her, won't you–and don't forget those of us who fight to see all other pregnancies mature into young men and women worthy of the dignity God has given human kind. Jim
