I personally enjoyed reading what Pastor Bob wrote. My heart breaks when I read the sarcastic comments above.

"This incomprehensible quote is attributed here to some fundie imbecile" and I do disagree with this quote. Why? Because it is understandable. Though I do understand why you see it as you do.

As for those who believe homosexuality is okay and also do not believe in God, allow me to place science and anatomy before you on this subject matter . . . in male to male sexual relationships there is much damage done to the body . . .

Looking merely at the design of the human bodies . . . when the human body is used in a way that goes against its design there are consequences . . .

I trust you will remain free thinkers and not be caught in the lies of the cultures . . .

Take care now

When I read quotes like this, from evangelical christians trying to justify their bigotry, I tend to just think, "anybody so dumb or so misguided as to believe this nonsensical claptrap probably is beyond the reach of reason anyway."

When talking to some of these people in person, I usually remark on how similar they sound to the Christians of the 1800s justifying slavery on biblical grounds, and that they sound even MORE like Baptists in the southern U.S. in the 1950s and 1960s, using their bible to justify preventing marriage between "races", and segregation.

Step by step, the extreme fringe of the christian church in America is losing the cultural war (and I should point out that most Christians I meet have no problem with gays, etc., it's the "born again" ones you need to watch out for). First, they lost the battle to keep slaves, then they lost the battle to keep segregation, then they lost the battle to prevent interracial marriage, and now they're losing the battle over same-sex marriage.

A long, slow road, but we're getting there, a state at a time. (Europe is fortunate to have a lower percentage of radical religious people).

I hope “Ex-lesbian” Melissa Fryrear has another bang on her head and can go back to enjoying her life.

Valdemar, never imply that the Little Mermaid dosen't exist. I'm a 65 year old man and I'm a virgin still waiting for my Mermaid.

Here we go again - silly little people telling us what their made-up God 'wants'. Why not tell us what Gandalf, the Little Mermaid or King Arthur want from us for good measure? I never cease to be amazed at the decency and restraint of gays and other targets of this bigotry. How rarely the targets of these bigots resort to violence - now that's real morality.

“I’ve not seen any attempt [by the mass media] to understand or communicate the real concern of Christians concerning gay marriage.”
Oh, such as murdering gays, forcing gays out of the community, attempts at brain-washing gays to be ‘straight, picketing gay events with “god hates fags” banner etc.
