If anyone would take the time to think about it, human beings are religious beings by nature, starting as far back as the stone ages. It doesn't matter what we believe in, but the majority of the people on the planet are religious in one aspect or another. Religion does not belong in politics that is true. But everyone deserves to have something to believe in, even if you do not agree with them. To many people their morals come from religion, or the way they live. There is nothing wrong with someone being religious. Im christian but in no way do I think we can all be saved from harm, since according to our religion we have free will.

Religion is for people who are too afraid to think for themselves and have been brainwashed since birth to unquestioningly believe nonsense of whatever flavor.

I don't need religion, I have morals. To not harm others for fear of eternal punishment after death is wrong.

Not to mention, there is no god. Get over it.

I hate religitards.

Folks can be as religious as they want as long as it stays out of politics, I don't really care if deluded people believe nonsense, it troubles me when they've become a political force. Maybe I'm just too idealistic, soon to be a disapointed optimist.

Would a better way of finding out whether religion is declining not be to actually ask people if they're religious than to ask them how they think the religious population is changing?

The slow death of religion is a good thing and it can't come fast enough to suit me. Unfortunately, I shall not live long enough to see it, but I have seen such great progress. What will help? Speak up! Write letters. Put your money where your mouth is (I am now a life member of the FFRF). Above all, recognize that religion has occupied a privileged position on this country and that privilege must be stripped away. Religion DOES NOT DESERVE RESPECT.

"53 percent saying religion “can answer all or most of today’s problems.”

Thats still to damn much. Religion is dangerous. its causing people to think that if shit gets bad enough "God" will save us. For the sake of humanity, read your damn bibles, and realize they're no more "holy" than a Virgin Mary burnt into morning toast.

America needs help moving out of the dark ages, please help. The Religious are sick, and we need to give them the antidote. please, inject reason into any religious person you can.

to me, the lack of religious influence is a good thing.

Faith is nothing more than the act of being able to make decisions without having to think. george bush got elected into office, Twice, mainly because of the heavy christian community in the states.
"I don't know much about him or his policies, but i will vote for him because of his faith" that qoute has exited the lips of many supporters of our soon to be former president.

if you are a person of faith, Truly asky yourself "Why is faith a good thing."

i dont want to hear the answers, this is something to think about yourself. why is faith, the act of believing in something even though there is a sufficient lack of evidence something that is good, something that should be emulated, especially by those holding government office.

With much love and peace,
