I am not a Catholic but I warmly applaud the Pope stating clearly that gay activities are sinful. These people must repent of their sins and accept Jesus as their Lord and saviour if they are to avoid Hell when they die. Oh, and by the way, the new “gay hate” law has a free speech clause (which the Christian Institute fought for); this clause makes it clear that Christians can continue to declare gays to be sinful as long as we don’t incite violence against them, which I wouldn’t do anyway.

I wouldn’t cheer too loud for the “plucky” Dutch. Go live there for some time and you’ll experience a lot of double talk and hypocrisy in that culture. They are now begining a new search for what they call “values” in a society that has become so relativistic that it’s unravelling at the edges already. “Atheism” is beginning to loose much of its attraction and intellectual snob appeal among the Dutch.

Reading recently that the Netherlands were being attacked internally for their liberal attitudes towards all freedoms, particularly by the mad mullahs, it’s refreshing to see a politician fighting back and not caving into the religious right.

Lets’ look at things in prespective.

What the ‘holy father’ said was, roughly, homos are a sin. Then all of a sudden the arseholes around him declare ‘what the holy father actually meant was that all peoples are equal’.

A breath-taking use of ‘newspeak’ that would have left Stalin impressed.

Strangely enough, Verhagen considers himself to be a Christian.
B.t.w., the dutch government incl. Verhagen consider the attack on Gaza proportional and refuses to condemn Israel, so it’s not all cheers with the plucky Dutch.
