GEORGE Hargreaves, of the evangelical Christian Party, is a Grade A idiot.

Evangelical barmpot George Hargreaves, left, and Alan Duncan
But just how big a numpty this Bible-thumper really is only came to light yesterday when it was reported in Pink News that he had lodged a complaint with the Metropolitan Police against gay Tory MP Alan Duncan.
Duncan’s “crime” took the form of a “death threat” against blonde Christian airhead Miss California –Carrie Prejean – whom he called a “silly bitch” for opposing gay marriage.
A guest on BBC’s knock-about Have I Got News for You last Friday, Duncan quipped:
If you read that Miss California has been murdered, you will know it was me, won’t you?
Shortly afterwards the Metropolitan Police received the complaint from the nutter Hargreaves, who is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying:
Mr Duncan has crossed the line. A senior politician suggesting, even as a joke, that it is okay that Miss Prejean should be murdered for her evangelical Christian views is totally unacceptable. How can we stop gun and knife crime when the man who thinks he will be the next Home Secretary makes death threats?

Carrie Prejean
Duncan insisted:
Of course it was in jest. It is a comedy show after all. I’m sure Miss Prejean’s very beautiful and that if we were to meet we would love each other. I have no plans to kill her. I’ll send her a box of chocolates – unpoisoned.
A spokesman for the BBC said:
Alan Duncan’s comment was not meant to be taken seriously and it did not go unchallenged. Its absurdity and unacceptability was highlighted by the other panellists.

I did watch this edition of the show, but at no point was I ever concerned that Alan Duncan MP was actually going to murder Barbie.
Just goes to prove what I have always maintained, religious people have their reality chip inserted upside-down.

Graham Nunn ridiculed Hargreaves on his blog ( http://creativeyear.wordpress.com ) some time ago, labelling him "Mr Unimaginative" (worth a look). He ( "Bonkers" Hargreaves I mean!) is a millionaire ex-musician (writer of the Gay Anthem "So Macho" in fact!!), and is using his wealth to try to buy a seat in the European Parliament through his own "Christian Party" (very imaginative again!). He also funded the recent bus-ads which more or less stated: "There IS a God, so vote for ME"!!! (Will he include that in his election expenses, I wonder? Wouldn`t do for a "practising" Christian to do anything unethical, would it?). However, according to the report on the Sun site (re the above story), Hargreaves has now become even more imaginative than ever. He is reported as saying of Miss California (Carrie Prejean): "I`d love to invite her over and take her round the House of Commons" – well, what more could a person ask!!!!!

Looking at her pic I can't get past that extra tit on her shoulder. I watched the show and thought it would prompt some reaction so no surprise there then.
April 28th, 2009 at 9:40 am
If you listen to Ms Prejean`s comments on YouTube, chrsbol, you will see that she IS, in fact, a tit!!!
April 28th, 2009 at 9:42 am
"I’m sure Miss Prejean’s very beautiful and that if we were to meet we would love each other."
Brave lad. Me, I wouldn't want to get too close to that carnivorous-looking dentition.

A euphemism a don't know?
April 28th, 2009 at 11:05 am
It was still a stupid thing to say.
April 28th, 2009 at 11:48 am
Well, that`s EXACTLY what it says polomint!!
Mikespeir – which one, Hargreaves or Duncan? hahaha!!!

The religious nutters can say what ever they like about gay people and get away with it, but If we make a joke about religion out come the nutters in their droves to whinge. I saw HIGNFY and thought – as I'm certain most rational people did – that Mr Duncan was joking. Of course the religious don't understand humour.
April 28th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
If he wasn't joking then he is the worst assassin the world has ever known.
April 28th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
What an idiotic a-hole. She's a twat for her statement and viewpoints but to threaten her life, even in jest, is unacceptable.
April 28th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
I agree that Alan Duncan is an idiot, and the comment was really stupid, but how many times have you heard someone say: "I`ll kill you for that!"? We need a sense of proportion here!!
April 28th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
So much for freedom of speech!… The police should be out catching criminals; Christians are one of the most protected groups around!… it shows what sad supine individuals Christians are!
No, not my strong thoughts on the matter, just what somebody like Birdshit would probably be saying if a joke on a post-watershed comedy show about killing a figure like Dale Winton or Graham Norton caused a police investigation.

barriejohn,
I agree that Alan Duncan is an idiot, and the comment was really stupid, but how many times have you heard someone say: "I`ll kill you for that!"?
Probably a million. But this is a public figure making the statement about a celebrity who has become the darling of the RRRW. It's hardly the same as some yokel saying it in jest to his buddy. I wouldn't be surprised if all the RRRW media make it as much as, if not more of, a spectacle than Perez Hilton calling her a dumb b*tch. She'll really be a martyr for the "traditional marriage" cause.
April 28th, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Didn`t she call it "opposite marriage" actually? She certainly didn`t appear to be a genius on the YouTube clip, I must say; but then it`s not her brainpower that has made her famous, is it? She does seem to be able to read though, as there is a photo of her on http://dwindlinginunbelief.blogspot.com apparently reading from the Bible, while dispensing pearls of spiritual wisdom, at some Californian church. Another Christian hypocrite who condemns others for their lack of Godliness, while making megabucks from her looks and body – you couldn`t make it up!!!
April 28th, 2009 at 8:44 pm
I saw the programme. I thought the most embarrasing aspect was Alan Duncan and his expenses. As for kiiling that woman – Duncan was irritated and why not with the silly woman. Waste of police time pursuing this. What about pursuing Holy Tony and his lies? How many people resulted his his deceits? But Tony Baloney Blair is, of course, a Christian.

She has a really pretty face, but girls out there, harken to what I say, two melon sized breast implants forced between what appears to be skin stretched over a skeleton is not attractive. Guys like ski jump shaped boobs, not basketballs. So if your plastic surgeon wants to sell you a couple of honeydews trapped under your skin, don't waste your money. Since they started implanting behind the pectoral muscles to keep them from sagging after a few years, breast implants are obvious and ugly.

"A really pretty face" Norman? Have you actually seen those gnashers – they`re terrifying!!!
April 30th, 2009 at 4:25 pm
Loosen up everone for 'heavens' sake. He did not threaten her life… HIGNFY is a satirical comedy show! It was a comedy statement. To say that it is unacceptable puts you in the same bag as the fundamentalists, who are clearly more mental than fun.
Shouldn't we as a society be more worried about people who are actually dying? 65 people every week are killed on Britains roads every single week, and no-one seems to give a shit. Apart form the dead people obviously. Just to put a comedy moment in some perspective.

Whereas objections to Mr. Duncan's comment have generally been met with a defense of free (albeit tasteless) speech, Parliament recently voted, by an overwhelming majority, to reject the defense of free speech in a context that mirrors that of Mr. Duncan's remark.
That context is best illustrated by the following statement made by John Bercow, MP, (also a Conservative), during the House of Commons debate on the Coroners and Justice Bill on January 26th:
"The creation of the offense of homophobic hate crime…was designed to catch, among other things, despicable homophobic lyrics in reggae songs, such as…'All gay men should die'. May I put it…that the so-called free speech amendment was at best superfluous, and at worst deeply objectionable? Some — although not all — of its supporters would not even know how to spell the word equality, let alone sign up to it."
