I’ve known Andrea for over 20 years, and regard her as a good friend. I don’t agree with her religious views. I certainly don’t agree with her reported views on homosexuality. However, for what it’s worth I’ll say this : she believes passionately, and far from being hate filled she is only trying to save your souls. That’s her “god given” duty, and because it’s a duty she can’t give it up. You may not believe you have a soul to save, but she thinks you do. “Bad-mouth queers”? You’ve got her wrong, folks. She does care, it’s just that her belief system is different to yours and mine.

who just happens to be an anti-gay bigot who doesn’t care that the views she propagates and attempts to force on the rest of society drive young gay people to suicide and fertilise the soil in which anti-gay violence flourishes.

Yeah – no-one’s totally evil. But you still call them out on the areas where they are.

For the record, I believe conservative Christians should be allowed to preach their views on homosexuality. Each time they do, it provides an opportunity for them to be shot down with reasoned argument.

Having met Andrea just recently, and as a Christian believer myself, i find it hard to grasp that you people are calling her narrow minded, obsessed etc yet again….look at some of the comments you have written about her. more to the point, most of the comments are personal attacks on her and not just her views. if you disagree with her then fine, but she has a freedom to speak just as much as you do to say she is wrong.
She is a very warm hearted, compassionate woman, who is wanting to do best by everyone and who is passionate about her faith…and so she should be.

I only googled Andrea Minchiello because I saw her name in the newspaper after the recent “Nurse wearing a crucifix at work” case.

I knew Andrea well when we were at school together in Weymouth.

Whilst she was Christian at the time, and cared passionately about the things she cared about, she wasn’t in your face and was tolerant of other views. I haven’t seen her for many years but I doubt whether this has changed.

So listen to the views, argue back (if that’s your bag), but try to leave aside the personal insults.

I find it sad to read the comments here. If you are atheists and have any good to contribute to the world, this attack of a fellow human being whether you agree with her views or not does nothing for your cause. I happen to be a Christian who agrees with much of what Andrea says because she bases her views on biblical teaching. This makes me (and Andrea) no more fundamentalist than an atheist. If you don’t like the Christian view you attack it in a nasty, hateful way, why can’t you simply disagree in a mature fashion? As for Angela K’s comment about being obsessed with sex, has she seen what’s going on around her lately? I would say it is non- Christians who are obsessed with sex and enjoying it much less as a result!

Now Williams is comparing the equality laws proposed for the EU as social genocide. She wants to continue her discrimination and make money for her organisation. She is turning thousands from the church because of her intolerance and desire to attack one section of society while ignoring her own prejudices.
