Probably, like yourself, I am preparing for xmas day. I am buying food and alcohol in expectation of spending time with my family, not to celebrate the alleged birth of christ.

However, times are hard, forget the shit that the organised religions spout but spare a thought (or, better still, a few pounds) for those less fortunate than yourself.

Ash Walsh, you are absolutely right that criminality entrenches poverty. That was my point. We criminalize actions that (in many cases) are a response to poverty, rather than dealing with the poverty itself. Steel food and go to jail, but steal millions of people’s pensions and buy a yacht? That’s the “essential debate” that I was talking about.
