JUDGING from the large number of votes he received in the New Humanist’s 2009 Bad Faith Award poll, Pope Ratzinger, Protector-in-Chief of clerical paedophiles, is the clear winner, having polled 2,287 votes. This means that, with a lead of around 1,000 votes, he beat Adnan Oktar, aka Harun Yahya, the Islamic world’s leading creationist clown, into second place.
But, who, we wonder, will make off with the coveted title of Gay Grinch 2009?
The Gay Grinch contest is the brainchild of one of America’s craziest Christians, demented anti-gay dipstick Peter LaBarbera.
LaBarbera is universally known in the States as “Porno Pete” Â - a nickname he acquired as a result of the many hours he spends going “undercover” to gay sex clubs and leather gatherings, armed with a video camera to expose alleged naughtiness.
Gay activist Wayne Besen pointed out on his Truth Will Out blog last month:
What people find odd is that he goes to the same events year-after-year, as if he will find something new. But, as far as I can tell, leather looks the same in 2009 as it did in 1999. So, why does this man keep returning to the same venues? I suppose it is possible that he may find it titillating, on some level.
Revealingly, he never goes to heterosexual events that have a similar level of debauchery. Indeed, one rarely finds him pictured with the opposite sex and, for some unexplained reason, it appears he is exclusively fixated on the homosexual arena.

Anyway, LaBarbera, who runs the hysterical Americans for Truth about Homosexuality, decided late last year to hold a contest to find:
The meanest, most deceitful, most socially destructive and/or most blasphemous ‘gay’ activist of the year.

As this is AFTAH’s debut ‘Gay Grinch of the Year’ award, our procedures are still in flux. I am inclined to limit the competition to actual practicing homosexuals, bisexuals and ‘transgenders’ but am open to the idea that we will need to give another award to the Grinchiest heterosexual advocate for ‘gay rights’ (perhaps starting next year). We have noticed the growing arrogance and stridency of straight, pro-homosexuality activists – and some of the most caustic pro-‘gay’ rhetoric comes from straight sympathizers – so we don’t want to leave them out.
Two front-runners in LaBarbera’s list of candidates are “potty-mouthed” gossip columnist Perez Hilton “for his vulgar, bigoted rant against Miss California Carrie Prejean during the Miss USA 2009 pageant”; and Wayne Besen, “for his ongoing hatred and harassment of former homosexuals and Christians who help “gays” leave the lifestyle”.
We await the result with bated breath.

What a prick. besides – Jesus was totally anti-family, if he read his bible, he wanted people to abandon them to follow him and have no worldly possessions… which makes all these fascist neo-con christian family group appear very stupid as well as bigoted.

Why do so many evangelicals (I’m thinking Nicky “Alpha Course” Gumbel, Ted “I’ve had a gay demon but now I’m cured” Haggard and now “Porno Pete” LaBarbera) have the same crazed expression? Like smiling vipers, they all look as though they’re about to go for your neck!

Lets get this straight, he goes around harassing and spreading hatred about a group of people and then points an accusing finger at them if they have the gall to hate him back.
I would expect that most gay people would just ignore the idiot rather that hate him back anyway, being ignored seems to be the one thing these people can’t stand.

If you ever run across a sex term you’re unfamiliar with just go over to Porno Pete’s site. He likes to describe every last one of them–even the most obscure ones–in graphic detail. How anybody who claims to be a Christian and opposed to homosexuality can have that intimate a knowledge of such things is beyond me. I’m a lesbian, I’ve had many gay male friends over the years, and there are things I’ve seen on his site that were news to me.
That being said, he’s as hateful and vile a man as I’ve ever seen. He’s just one more example of how Christianity is a malignant disease in our society.

As much as we might like to ignore the attention whore Porno Pete, we really shouldn’t. He spreads a vile brand of lies and hatred that, if left unchecked, could cause great harm to gay people. We need to oppose his bull at every turn.
