IS THIS really far-right BNP leader Nick Griffin and deranged evangelist Rev George Hargreaves cosying up to one another and flashing scooped-out-brain smiles for the camera?

Nick Griffin - he's the one who isn't black - and the Rev George Hargreaves
Oh yes – and, what’s more, it has pride of place on the BNP website this week, which must come as a terrible shock to staunch upholders of “white Christian values”.
The two British bigots met on Revelation TV for a debate which the BNP describes as “highly civilised” and not at all like the BBC Question Time episode in which Griffin was “exposed to a resident lynch mob”.
Hargreaves represented the comical Christian Party in the live TV debate.
According to the BNP, each side was granted equal time to present their point of view and respond to questions in “a calm and rational manner”. Griffin showed time and time again that the BNP – which only recently voted to accept non-white members after a threat of legal action – Â was:
None of the things which the far leftist cranks claimed it to be, and at one stage Revd Hargreaves apologised to the BNP leader for a billboard last year which attacked the BNP in a most derogatory manner.
Declared the assuredly-not-a-crank Griffin:
The contrast between the conduct of the debate on Revelation TV and that of the BBC’s Question Time could not have been more obvious. Anyone who was possibly still undecided about the blatant set-up which was Question Time would have had their darkest fears confirmed by the debate with Revd Hargreaves. It was a fair and frank exchange of views, unhindered by the blatant partisanship which marked the BBC’s Question Time.
He continued:
We demonstrated that the BNP is not motivated by anything else but a love of preserving Britain, and all that this entails.
Such love – choke – is even extended (in a limited way, of course) to homosexuals, whom Griffin finds “creepy”.
He once said:
Grown men kissing in public is creepy to most people. You don’t often see it but if you do see it, it’s not a matter of homophobia, it’s odd and you have to explain it to little kids and so on – that’s strange.
But hey, the BNP has now had a change of heart about gays joining the party. According to yesterday’s Pink News, Griffin insists:
We’re not anti-gay. I took over a party which had a total ban on homosexual members. We’ve got gay members now and people know who they are, but it’s don’t ask don’t tell.
Rather than banning gay sex outright, the BNP now also claims only to oppose the “promotion” of homosexuality in schools.
Phew!

What with a lot of ‘white working class’ voters being fed up with uncontrolled immigration and pandering to islam, pehaps we should be glad that the BNP is playing the christian card – I fear they’d gain a lot more votes if they went secular.

So we’re all friends now, right?
Anybody would think there was an election coming up.

Read this article, and you will find George Hargreaves linked to…Christian Voice!

Really, you have to explain it to little kids? How hard is that? Some dudes kiss other dudes. If they ask other questions and you find yourself at a loss, say it was Jesus. If still they persist, say, “It was Jesus OOooooOOoo” while waving your arms in a mystical fashion. It’s about as good an explanation as you give for anything else, why mess with a good thing?

If Nick Griffin isn’t “anti-gay”, then Hargreaves certainly is!
“This is not about gay rights, it’s about gay wrongs,†he told The Times. “It’s not all homosexuals. Just the militant ones. There is a certain type who should stop criticising the Church and get a life. This is Christianophobia, peddled by the pink press.â€

It must make things very awkward for him when the very people whom he would expect to agree most closely with his views turn out to be “gay friendly” and racially prejudiced!

Has the British Nazi Party ever thought of offering honorary membership to Rush Limbaugh? Or do most Brits have the good fortune to have never heard of the man?

You quote the following
What has the Financial Times to do with this?

@ JT: A week or so back I was waiting sat a bus stop surrounded by a gaggle of noisy school kids. When the bus arrived, a lad of about 12 alighted, and, on seeing a friend in the crowd, rushed up, threw his arms around him and planted a great, sloppy kiss on his lips. This show of affection was returned with interest – and not one kid in the crowd said “eeew!” or “creepy” or even batted an eyelid. I just love living in Brighton, Britain’s gayest, most godless city. People here, even the kids, have so much to teach purse-lipped prudes the true meaning of tolerance.

As they say, you couldn’t make this stuff up.

I was rather shocked when I stumbled upon this article. This is a strange marriage of convenience that will only last until the election.

To play the devil’s advocate,
When I lived in San Diego, in a downtown hotel, there was a gay bar less than a half a block away with descent beer prices and an occasional kegger buy in, and pool tournaments, and I made a lot of friends, and one of them became a roommate.
My point is that, while straight, I am definitely not a homophobe. Despite that, it made me uncomfortable to see men kissing, and I can’t explain why, I just got a “go get a room” feeling. And I never really got comfortable with the guys who wore high top leather high heel boots and tried to play the limp wristed part of a woman. I swear I never harrassed them, or mistreated them, but, I felt it. I guess my point is a plea to the gay community to understand that while we may be on your side for civil rights, as I certainly am, that some us just don’t want to see public displays. I hope that doesn’t demonstrate a flaw in my character.

Revelation TV indeed!

@NeoWolfe: Public Displays of Affection can be nasty to watch and make one squeamish. I hate seeing people snog on the tube at 8am, it puts me off my breakfast. But I certainly don’t find it any more off-putting if it is two blokes or two girls doing it.
Point being – if you are going to stop gay people kissing, then stop everyone from kissing. Tell the whole world to ‘get a room’, or tell none.
