AMERICA’S best-known hirer of male hookers – George (“I’m not gay”) Rekers – yesterday resigned from the board of NARTH, the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality.
NARTH is a group run by lunatic Christian fundies who promote the idea that homosexuality is a mental disorder that can, and should, be cured.
David C Pruden: another "gay cure" charlatan
Following his resignation, NARTH Vice President of Operations, David C Pruden, appeared to suggest that now was probably a good time for the reprehensible hypocrite to take a dose of his own medicine.
According to this report, Pruden – “an educator and lecturer on issues related to adolescent development, human sexuality, and family conflict resolution” – said:
He has friends who are members of NARTH and they are free to talk with, advise, and needless to say, they are free to help him in any way they might.
Pruden denied a report in the Miami New Times that NARTH had been involved in helping Rekers respond to the media after his trip to Europe with male escort “Lucien” (real name Jo Vanni Roman) was exposed.
Said Pruden:
NARTH has never had any role in advising Dr Rekers except to suggest that if he is innocent he needs to get a good lawyer. Â NARTH as an organization has taken no official role in this other than asking him to explain to us what has happened and in accepting his resignation.
A mealy-mouthed statement on the Narth website says:
NARTH has accepted Dr Rekers’ resignation and would hope that the legal process will sufficiently clarify the questions that have arisen in this unfortunate situation. We express our sincere sympathy to all individuals, regardless of their perspective, who have been injured by these events. We also wish to reiterate our traditional position that these personal controversies do not change the scientific data, nor do they detract from the important work of NARTH. NARTH continues to support scientific research, and to value client autonomy, client self-determination and client diversity.
Update: Rekers’ hijacked Facebook page has this message from Kenneth Shank:
Georgie … Honey … You have a problem … NARTH has scrubbed every reference about your from their site… NARTH has also removed all of the fake articles of lies and HATE that you authored … Poor Georgie …The whole world hates you … Think rope, ladder, and beam Georgie … Its time …
Meanwhile, columnist Dan Savage comes up with a brilliant suggestion on his blog: that the term “whatever floats your boat” be changed to “whatever lifts your luggage”.

I read a brilliant article in the newspaper the other week, not sure whether it was The Times or Guardian. It was about how so many animals go for the ‘Gay’ option and many develop lifelong bonds with same-sex partners rather than the “normal” way of things. It seems that if only the religiots would accept that we are animals as much as any Donkey it would become clear that it is THEIR way of thinking which is un-natural and therefore wrong.

Pruden is probably not gay. He is however the sort of bigot who has forthright opinions of how others should live their lives. Just for that someone ought to start digging into his private life and see what turns up. There’s bound to be something he wouldn’t want generally known that would cause embarrassment.
I thought humility was a character trait all god-lovers aspire to except for these professional xians. They have huge egos and paint themselves as whiter than white. When their hypocrisy gets exposed I love it. Their just as dirty, if not dirtier, than we are.

I think that Christians who feel themselves to have leanings towards humility should perhaps seek therapy. My own view is that it is unnatural, but that it is perfectly possible to cure the condition, Broadsword!

I thought of that too, Monsieur le Gronk, but I didn’t like to say it, as it always seems to fall to me to point out (as an ex-addict) that the Christians have an answer for EVERYTHING! There is little point in using logic to confound them, as they just use a totally illogical argument to refute you. They can then be really annoyingly smug in the apparent belief that they have silenced all reasonable argument – grrr!!
