THE reluctance of Muslim leaders to protect the honour of the “prophet” Mo by waging “total jihad” against blasphemy committed by the “Jewish-Christian West” was blamed yesterday for persistent assaults on the character of the character who concocted Islam.

Pakistani protesters want a global jihad against 'blasphemers'
At angry rallies that took place across Pakistan against Facebook’s “Draw Mohammed” initiative, various Islamic clerics, according to this report, demanded that Muslim rulers either:
Wage jihad against the blasphemers or resign.
The “criminal silence of the Muslim rulers”, they said, had encouraged an insignificant organisation like Facebook to:
Play with the emotions of one billion Muslims of the world.
Had Muslim rulers mobilised their armies against Denmark in the past, there would not have been such an event today, the report said.
A rag-tag of religious and political leaders told protesters that Muslim rulers’ “criminal silence” on the issue was the main reason for encouraging the West to continue its blasphemy, and demanded a unified stance on the issue of blasphemy by the Muslim Ummah (brotherhood).
What was needed, they said, was an Islamic summit to plan a necessary strategy to deal with force, if necessary, with the “blasphemers”.
They also condemned the role of the UN and the OIC with regard to protecting the rights of Muslims, and demanded that Muslim rulers dissociate themselves from the UN and instead set up a global platform of Muslim countries.
One outfit, Hizb ut Tahrir staged a demonstration outside Lahore Press Club. Participants carried banners and placards inscribed with slogans like:
O Pak Army! Rise and deliver a teeth-shattering response to the blasphemers by establishing the Khilafah.
One of the Facebook cartoons
And
O Muslims! The protection of honour of Messenger is only possible through the physical jihad by Muslim armies and not through mere resolutions.
And
The blasphemous Kuffar only dared to do this because of the treacherous Muslim rulers.
They said the West was fully aware that Muslims did not have their shield, the Caliphate, and their treacherous rulers were only acting as Western agents whose sole purpose in life was to put shackles on the Muslims and work to protect the interests of the infidels.
Also that the West was violating its own ideal of “freedom” while lashing Muslims.
We ask does a Muslim woman has (sic) ‘freedom’ in a French school where she is not allowed to wear a head-scarf! Do hundreds of Muslims incarcerated in the dungeons of Guantanamo Bay for the past eight years enjoy any level of freedom, who don’t even know the allegation on which they have been abducted? Does any individual in the West have the freedom to criticize Holocaust or democracy? Absolutely not! Then why is it that the personality of the Messenger of Allah is always attacked under the guise of ‘freedom’.

This reaction is precisely why we continue taking the piss.
All those rabid muzzies and not one single pic of “Rage Boy”. I’m disappointed.
Muslim armies, there’s a laugh. Repulsed by a single Israeli child firing an airgun from a dustbin.

My only reaction to this article was laughing. Muslim armies!! lol
Ok let say they have the armies, waging a war where hundreds of thousands innocents could die just for offending some guy who lived (or not) more than thousand years ago? That just says a lot about muslims.

Perhaps we would tire of baiting the hook if they didn’t snao at the bait every time?
Such cry-babies…

I’ll see your billion Moslems, and raise them Facebook’s 500 million members. Insignificant? I don’t think so.

I notice that the Reichsfuhrers themselves acknowledge that there are only one billion Moslems. Yet the media persistently credit them with fifty percent more than that, while simultaneously doubling the 1.1 billion Christians and reducing the number of nontheists from 2.2 billion to less than half that figure.

@William Harwood. Reminds me of Margaret Thatcher shuffling papers in the House of Commons to try to discover the number of unemployed. Dennis Skinner – otherwise known as the Beast of Bolsover but sharp and feisty – shouted: “Just give it to the nearest million.”
What’s a billion here or there. The faithful are routinely exagerated and the nontheists are routinely reduced.

I do believe that islam will eventually eat itself.
Unfortunately for everyone else, it’s an extremely messy eater.

I think that Dr. Harwood’s attempts to get to the bottom of the numbers game are quite valuable. It is probably impossible to get properly objective figures because opinion polls are inevitably misleading and in some countries the whole population is counted in with no regard to their actual beliefs. In all this, one thing is certain, each religion bigs up its own membership and asserts that other cults have fewer followers as a matter of routine.
A hundred and fifty years ago the Christian world began to grudgingly tolerate atheists but the atheists were expected to keep their views to themselves. The unintended consequence of this is that the numbers of unbelievers remain hidden. Who knows how many atheists are butting the rug every day in Muslim land? What can we do to set these people free?

Well, if they could this is exactly what they would do. There’s nothing here that isn’t totally in line with their koran. The more these things occur the more we see what the fundamentalist muslim agenda really is. I’m not surprised that the fundies in PAK are so out of touch with reality that they think the PAK army capable of establishing the caliphate……but the caliphate is what it’s all about – the whole world needs to be in the seventh century

The point about what asserting a faith is important. In the UK a question worth posing when someone says, “I believe in god” is to ask what they mean by god. They cannot offer a sensible answer. Towards the more fundie end of the belief spectrum they say he is made in “man’s image”. At the other end the are reduced to saying, “Well, there must be something there.”
On the muslim front they fear for their wellbeing if they want to be honest.

“Play with the emotions of one billion Muslims of the world.”
If the Muslims of the world didn’t let their emotions get the better of them then there wouldn’t be a problem.
Emotional reactions are the only reaction most Religious people understand, so therefore they ‘feel’ threatened by anyone who opposes their idealistic perspective.

I’m not a pedant, but if you’re going to hold up a banner at a demonstration, make sure of the spelling……..
…..or you’ll be condemed!

Well, I’m an equal opportunity iconoclast. If we’re going to declare an image of the pedophile prophet profane (you catch that BJohn, three p’s in a row) then we should storm every catholic church and smash every image of Jesus on the cross and the virgin (yeah, right) Mary.
The tactics of radical islam is no different from street gangs. The message is, “we’re sociopathic wackos, and we will kill you as soon as take the next breath. Fuck with us, you die.” And it may be true, but, you can either give into their threats, or flip them the bird, and draw a cartoon of a prophet swammi, ridiculous faker. I don’t do racial epithets, but, I damn sure draw a line in the sand when it comes to religious threats. How do I phase this in a PC way? I’ve got it!!! Fuck allah!!! Fuck muhammed!!! Fuck islam!!!
My speechwriter, Bill Maher, recommended that I soften the blow with a “Fuck Jehovah”.

Actually, the muslim blasphemy tactic is pretty effective. Keep insisting something is true, act as though it is something ‘everybody’ knows, be shocked and offended if it is questioned etc.
Since it can only be blasphemy if you either a) believe in/worship this particular godhead; or b)you are subject to shariah law, when/if the UN finally agrees that it is blasphemy, it is stating that we are all subject to shariah.
GAME OVER.
80% of the world’s population must continue to insist that blasphemy is a matter of taste, not law.

Spot on, gsw! People must have believed in literally millions of “gods” down through the ages – is the name of every single one of them to be revered? You can only be guilty of “blasphemy” if the object of your remarks is sacred. As NeoWolfe says, we have to have one rule for all!
