Green gets himself a slot on Channel 4

CHANNEL 4 is giving Stephen “Birdshit” Green the opportunity to sound off on his favourite subject, The Gays, on Monday, August 2 at 7.55pm.

As part of its 4thought TV series, Channel 4 – using an ancient, beard-free but typically sullen mugshot of the Birdbrain of Britain – flags up the mad homophobe’s contribution thus:

Dredged up from the archives: old misery-guts Green as a young man

Sexuality has become a major battle ground for the world religions. offers a series of radically different perspectives on homosexuality and sin.

Stephen Green, national director of the lobby group Christian Voice, quotes from the Book of Revelations in the Bible to support his belief that God’s plan for sexuality is heterosexual. Green believes that there has been a homosexualisation of British society, and that the gay lifestyle is inherently hedonistic and destructive.

Others featured in the series include the Rev Peter Ould, (Aug 4, 7.55pm) who believes God “has helped him to overcome his attraction to men”; practising Hindu Subodh Rathod (August 5, 7.55pm) “who lives with his gay partner Niranjan Kamatkar, and his mum, and believes that his religion is compatible with his sexuality”; and Rev Wale Babatunde (Aug 6, 7.55pm) who “believes that the Bible is clear: God does not accept homosexuals in the same way that he does not accept thieves”.

Coincidentally, Americans for Truth About Homosexuality are hosting a three-day conference on The Gays in the same week at Christian Liberty Academy, Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Peter LaBarbera has sodomy on his mind 24/7

It kicks off with an address by AFTAH’s demented chief, Peter LaBarbera,  “a 47-year-old, happily married father of five“, entitled  “From gay pride to gay tyranny”.

Other topics include:

• Masculine Christianity: a non-defensive approach to the Culture War over homosexuality

• The ‘born gay’ hoax

• Corrupting children, politicizing schools: the homosexual youth agenda

• From abomination to ‘gay’: answering ‘queer theology’ — Old Testament

• From destroying DOMA [Defense of Marriage Act] to homosexualizing the military: Obama’s radical homosexual/transsexual agenda for America.

A mere $149 will get you a ticket to this unmissable gathering of wingnuts. The fee includes prayers, breakfast and lunch.

“Kevin Carlyon is the High Priest of British White Witches and the official protector of the Loch Ness Creature in Scotland.”

I think that is fairly representative of the intellectual level of the 4thought series on Channel 4. Green will fit in nicely.

Birdie may not be that handsome but his bag-carrier would not need to look at his face while filling his rear socket with woody creme-freche.

The waste of time, money and energy by these people is staggering. Everybody knows by now that their god disapproves of homosexuality and lots of other stuff people like to engage in. Can’t we leave it in the hands of god(s) to sort this out at a later date and move on to more pressing matters that affect us all? In spite of gays being allowed to marry over here, nothing serious has to us happened so far, in spite of Green’s soul-mates warnings that we would be in for some serious punishments if we allowed this gay marriage thing.

    and I agree with him.

Which is exactly why the bible and its batshit crazy adherents should have no influence in how a sane, decent, just and moral society should be run.

  5. Angus Dee says:

It’s nothing to do with God and all to do with Stephen’s imagination, fuelled as it is with images of throbbing cocks and tight sphincters.

  6. AngieRS says:

Not sure where you hail from, Har Davids, but in the UK, marriage for Gay people is illegal. Civil Partnerships are what we got palmed off with. Anyway, I welcome programmes like this. The more people who see idiots like Green the more they lose their credibility. Can’t lose from where I stand.

Can I suggest that people share their opinion of the charity-blackmailing, poof-loathing fanatic’s views with the channel 4 staff (using mature forms of expression) here:

Grief – I’ll have to get up early on my birthday to see this. It’s like the Daily Mail – I only ever pick it up for a quick adrenaline shot of anger.

As the Daily Mash T shirt says, it’s like spending 20 minutes in a mental hospital –

Or watching The Big Questions on Sunday morning.

some of the 4 thought segments have been quite interesting, especially the ones on northern ireland and it was good to see that there at least some young people in northern ireland rejecting religion altogether though there was that one kid who wanted to become a priest in order to bridge the gap between catholics and protestants which is a bit like battling drug addiction in society by selling heroin.

This weeks has been about paganism, they may have wacky beliefs but at least they’re not blowing themselves up on trains or knocking on peoples doors who aren’t interested in their beliefs.

At some point 4thought is going to cover atheism as well so I look forward to that.

edit – somehow thought it said 7.55am – an nice early slot like (“Thought for the day” I had no idea Ch4 would excrete this kind of mediavel braindead homophobic crap during primetime viewing hours.

I assume its a kind of ironic jape by the liberal lefties at Ch4 who sing “we’re so good at telly” in their offices, when they think of these hoots. Let’s wheel out some wingnuts and let them make clowns of themselves for our ironic amusement

I notice that Channel 4 has a lot of sex on its programmes and to my mind has gone down hill. Except maybe for the fact that are airing a programme re the pope by Peter Tatchell in Sept.So they obviously are doing something right.
It makes me sick to the stomach that these mad fools are just crazy in the head, but I believe they should get a voice just to show the rest of the World what hypocrites they are,
They obviously do not love their neighbours so they according to their bible will end up in hell, well they are making lives hell on earth, they should be ashamed of themselves.

  12. Angela_K says:

I’m pleased Channel Four will be allowing air time to Green and other religious loonies; maybe it will shut them up about being denied free speech. Aslo, Green and his mates are too dim to realise that they will be scoring an own goal by displaying their bigotry for all to see. We can point and laugh!

  13. Janstince says:

Angela – I doubt they’ll shut up about being denied free speech until they can force others to shut up. That’s there MO, in my experience.

I posted this same link towards the end on an earlier thread. If you didn’t read it then have a look now as it is a fantastic response to Dr. Laura Schlessinger, who on her radio show also claimed that homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance.

  15. Har Davids says:

AngieRS, I live in Holland and there were some relidiots predicting disasters if gay marriage were made possible, but we’re still here. About half of the population lives below sea-level, so if Steven’s god was really miffed and as powerful as claimed, he could have drowned a lot of us with the snap of his celestial fingers.

BTW, we only have civil marriage/partnership here, as the state doesn’t recognize religious marriage.

Only BBC 1 and 2 here, so I’m looking forward to the comments on Steven’s grand debut on TV.

  16. Stonyground says:

Stephen Green has appeared on Question Time, by all accounts he made a complete tit of himself.

  17. Sean Reynolds says:

Hope a lighting rig falls on him instead of birds crapping this time. I haven’t seen 4thought, but I hope it shows more of his actual life. He doesn’t seem the sort of “really, really not gay” that could pull off a double life of speed and rentboys like his American counterparts so I’m guessing his Travis Bickle existence has spiralled even further; self-flagellating the gay away, doing pushups on his knuckles while looking at a picture of Jesus at his most Bee-Gee-like.

“All the animals come out at night – satirical musicals, queers, atheists, queer atheists, atheist queers, seagulls. Someday a real rain will come and wash all this scum off the streets.”

  18. AngieRS says:

Thanks, Har Davis, we don’t even get a civil marriage which straight couples are allowed if they don’t want a religious ceremony or if their church refuses to do it. Church won’t allow the government to call it marriage.

  19. Pablo says:

If the iron-age book the Bible and its armageddon book Revelations should teachs how to build a tolerant, all-inclusive society, then I suggest adopting the teachings on democracy from the Chronicles and Kings books; on medical care and blood transfussion from Genesis; and on financial planning – if you don’t pay your debts before the 8th year, don’t worry, they will be discharged after this period of time- from Deuteronomy. Since I suppose Green adopts these teachings also, among other things, I will never lend him my money.

  20. Buffy says:

It’s bizarre how sex-obsessed the fundaloons are.

  21. Roxane says:

I can’t believe that anyone still thinks there is such a thing as the “homosexual youth agenda.” Compared to, say, the Catholic Church youth abuse agenda?

  22. Mike Daniels says:

    Barry –

Just an update for you on the “Truth Academy”. Just ANYBODY can’t attend.

Attendance is restricted to those who have references to prove, and I quote, that they “share AFTAH’s belief that homosexuality is immoral and that the GLBT movement is destructive to America and a direct threat to our religious freedom”.

The entire point of this “Truth Academy” is to train teens how to fight homosexuals, who are The Enemy. Much like the Jews at another time and place. (OK, many times and places. Including some now.)
