AFTER a cache of hate videos, featuring sermons by Australian Sheik Feiz Mohammed, were uncovered by Oz’s Daily Telegraph in 2007, the Muslim preacher Â- then living in exile in the Lebanon – was told by Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd never to return to the country.
But it is reported this weekend that the Sydney-born cleric and former champion boxer is back in the country, delivering sermons at the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah centre in Auburn.

Sheik Feiz Mohammed
NSW police told The Sunday Telegraph they were monitoring Sheik Feiz, who has a reputation worldwide as an inflammatory preacher.
In his is Death Series DVDs the preacher likened Jews to pigs and urged Muslim children to become martyrs.
Teach them this: There is nothing more beloved to me than wanting to die as a mujahid [holy warrior]. Put in their soft, tender hearts the zeal of jihad and a love of martyrdom.
In another lecture, he said:
Every single non-Jew is a slave created to serve the Jew … their time will come like every other evil person’s time will come.
His comments provoked outrage. Rudd, then opposition foreign spokesman said at the time:
I would say this to Sheik Mohammed: Do not return to Australia, you are not welcome here.
Rudd said of his return:
If he was found to have contravened laws, he would be subject to appropriate law enforcement.
The Sunday Telegraph says it has learned that Sheik Feiz has been accused of being linked to a political sabotage campaign on the streets of Auburn. Candidate Jamal Daoud, who is standing in the state election, complained to authorities that campaign posters had been stripped from shop windows by the Sheik’s followers.
They told everybody that democracy is not permitted.
A spokesman for the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah Association of Australia said his sermons would be religious teachings that would promote peace “as all religions do”.
Sheik Mohammed did not return calls, however Samil Dandan, the President of the Lebanese Muslim Association, said Sheik Feiz was:
A changed man and should not be judged on his past.

It’s odd how seldom people who say such things as:
…aren’t actually the ones becoming martyrs. Seems it’s a lot easier to convince other people to die for your cause than to convince yourself to do so. Sick bastards.

Daz,
Ref: ‘aren’t actually the ones becoming martyrs’
Many religious leaders are often charasmatic, intelligent people. They are adept in manipulating vulnerable/gullible people often when they are at their weakest i.e bereavement/loss of job etc.
I think if people were not allowed to experience religion unless they were 18 or over, rather than brainwashing them in their youth as happens nowadays, people would be better able to see these charlatans for what they are.

Padre to departing troops: “Now God go with you, and I’ll go as far as the station.”

Daz, barriejohn, it’s a thankless task but someone has to do it.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Ratzi and Rowan were not covert atheists. They are both intelligent men, they are at the top of their careers, and it would be professional suicide to reveal their true opinions. They can’t possibly believe the bilge they spew out to their followers.
Maybe they have just split their brain activity. In private they are atheists. At work they push that aside and act as if they believed the incredible.

Another month, another Islamic fanatic who doesn’t want to live in an Islamic country. “Peace” – sportingly informing infidels that everyone on Earth is to accept Sharia Law and hand over power without fuss to avoid more bloody methods of persuasion.

Well, of course, if the leaders die, who is left to perpetuate the insanity?

Color me stupid, but, I don’t know who Rowan is. But, I agree that being the pope isn’t about spiritual leadership, it’s about advancing a business known as the RCC. He’s an actor on a stage, playing a role (perhaps more like a clown), struggling to maintain membership, liquidity, and political influence. Tough job these days with us asshole freethinkers stirring the pot.
I deduce that “Oz” is Australia, and like every other western culture, we cannot protect the rights of the average citizen without protecting their right to be wackos. If their was a law against wackos, next thing you know, atheists would be wackos. It’s the human condition, and we must live with it. So, until this nematode that calls himself “Sheik Muhammed” crosses a legal barrier, he will be tolerated. It’s complicated beyond belief to try to reconcile religious freedom with preventing religious extremism. Ironic, isn’t it? Freethinkers are sitting here with the permanent solution. No religion, no problem. We continue telling them, but they’re not listening.

barriejohn: a more humorous padre-quote (I might not have it exactly right, I’m working from memory). Marine padre onboard a ship bound for the Falklands conflict — “The next event in this hall is a sermon. All those not interested, fuck off.” There’s hope for some of ‘em!
NeoWolfe:
“So, until this nematode that calls himself “Sheik Muhammed†crosses a legal barrier, he will be tolerated.”
Exactly, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Just where the line is between allowing free speech and curtailment of inflammatory speech is always going to be a touchy subject, and rightly so — it’s not the sort of thing anyone should get complacent or lackadaisical about. He appears to be addressing minors though, and one could hope that that would trigger a faster response.

Sheikh is Arabic for ‘scholar’. This guy thinks he has that kind of status? Must be punch drunk.
Love the joyless bastard expression though. I wonder if he is trying to convey seriousness of intent or some other profundity.

@Neo Wolfe: Sorry! Rowan is our own religious star The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams. The Archbish communicates with his own special obfuscation, incomprehensible to all and you can make what you want from it.

You forgot to mention his eyebrows.

Cat litter, cavity wall insulation, dart-boards… The list could be endless.
