OBESITY is one of Kuwait’s biggest headaches. But there is another: Kuwaiti men – around 80 percent of whom are said to be obese – are being seduced into “immoral behaviour” by their attractive, mostly non-Kuwaiti servants.

Salwa al-Mutairi
Salwa al-Mutairi, a political activist and former parliamentary candidate for Kuwait’s government, has a solution to this particular problem: sex slavery.
According to this report, Mutairi told TV viewers that Muslim men who fear being seduced or tempted into immoral behaviour by the beauty of their female servants, or are afraid of having “spells” cast on them by their servants, would be better off purchasing women for sexual purposes from an “enslaved maid” agency.
She suggested that special offices could be set up to provide concubines in the same way as domestic staff recruitment agencies currently provide housemaids.
“We want our youth to be protected from adultery,” said al-Mutairi, suggesting that these maids could be brought to Kuwait from war-stricken nations like Chechnya to be sold on later to devout merchants.
The Kuwaiti female activist began by insisting that:
It’s of course true that the prophet of Islam legitimized sex-slavery.
She recounts how when she was in Mecca, Islam’s holiest city, she asked various sheikhs and muftis about the legality of sex-slavery according to sharia: they all confirmed it to be perfectly legal; Kuwaiti ulema further pointed out that extra “virile” men – Western synonyms include “sex-crazed,” “lecherous,” “perverted” – would do well to purchase sex-slaves to sate their appetites without sinning.
Here’s a particularly interesting excerpt from her taped speech on the rules governing sex-slaves:
A Muslim state must [first] attack a Christian state – sorry, I mean any non-Muslim state – and they [the women, the future sex-slaves] must be captives of the raid. Is this forbidden? Not at all; according to Islam, sex slaves are not at all forbidden. Quite the contrary, the rules regulating sex-slaves differ from those for free women [ie Muslim women]: the latter’s body must be covered entirely, except for her face and hands, whereas the sex-slave is kept naked from the bellybutton on up – she is different from the free woman; the free woman has to be married properly to her husband, but the sex-slave – he just buys her and that’s that.
She went on to offer concrete suggestions:
For example, in the Chechnyan war, surely there are female Russian captives. So go and buy those and sell them here in Kuwait; better that than have our men engage in forbidden sexual relations. I don’t see any problem in this, no problem at all.
And she cited 8th century Harun al-Rashid as a shining role-model:
And the greatest example we have is Harun al-Rashid: when he died, he had 2,000 sex slaves – so it’s okay, nothing wrong with it.
To Mutairi’s credit, she did suggest that the enslaved girls be at least 15 years-old.
Mutairi’s call for sex-slavery follows that of Egyptian cleric Shaykh Abi-Ishaq al-Huwayni who suggested Muslims embark on a few holy wars each year, and take non-Muslim women as slaves who could then be sold in market-places.

Don’t know what she’s worried about, though. She’s definitely safe from ANY male attentions.

Why is it that these people are so totally obsessed with sex?
June 12th, 2011 at 11:23 am
I think the muslims have really thought this one through. They’ve identified a problem, found a solution, confirmed the legality and located a supply. There is only one thing they seem to have overlooked…non-muslim women are human beings too. Sick bastards.

You would almost think she was playing a game here, saying ‘look how appalling our religion is, if you take it literally’. But apparently not.
I read an interesting book (Malcolm Gladwell, What the dog saw) in which he talks about the man who invented the pill, John Rock, a catholic. Mr Rock used to say ‘ Always stick to your conscience. Never let anyone keep it for you. And I mean anyone else’. If only that woman would consider her conscience for herself, maybe she would reconsider. But maybe not.As we know, religion means doing what you are told no matter what is right. Ethics is doing what is right, no matter what you are told.

barriejohn asked; “Why is it that these people are so totally obsessed with sex?”
I think it’s because their backward tribal culture and religion mean that they don’t have any chance to have what you might call normal relations with women, apart from their mothers and sisters they probably haven’t had any contact with a woman until they marry one.
In his book about his time in captivity after being kidnapped in Beirut, John McCarthy described how his captors were obsessed with sex and depressed by the fact that they probably would never be able to afford to get married.
I suspect that the best way to bring peace and stability to the Middle East would be to send thousands and thousands of willing whores to the area and make sure all the young men got laid once every week.

Don’t worry – it’s just a few extremists…….this isn’t the REAL islam

Thanks bj. That’s probably where Vinny Nix, the Archbigot of Westminster, got his idea that atheists are not fully hunan. So good to see muslim and catholic leaders agreeing on something for a change.
I personally think this whole human malarky is overrated. We’re just one big monkey family, though some of us are more monkey than others.

what the f*ck is her problem?
This, ladies and gentlemen, is an example of a despicable human being!

barriejohn, I’m surprised you’d want to link to Free Republic, a serious right wing home to racism, gay bashing, and conspiracy theory. Unsurprisingly, the story they posted does not link back to an original source.
I don’t want to ever click on a site whose owner talks like this:

Pardon – it does give a dead link to something called “Persian Journal.”
Here, for a better example, we can go straight to the source.
Qur’an 8:22 Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah’s sight are the deaf, the dumb, who have no sense.
8:55 Lo! the worst of beasts in Allah’s sight are the ungrateful who will not believe.
8:65 O Prophet! Exhort the believers to fight. If there be of you twenty steadfast they shall overcome two hundred, and if there be of you a hundred (steadfast) they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they (the disbelievers) are a folk without intelligence.

I am disgusted, not only with Mutairi’s “solution” to adultery, but with the way this article was framed. What on earth does the fact that Kuwaiti men tend to be fat have to do with the story about Mutairi? Are we supposed to be extra grossed out because the men who would be taking young girls as sex slaves are not Hollywood-handsome (as if that would make it all right) but instead, gasp! are fat? Or are we supposed to be surprised that fat men are interested in sex? Seriously, what is the purpose of that information in this context (that was apparently so key, that it made it into the headline)? Way to fat-shame, Freethinker.
June 12th, 2011 at 2:31 pm
Okay, I know I was mixing my drinks quite a bit last night (sorry Allah) but will have a go at getting my head around this.
The solution to men having ‘sinful’ thoughts about ‘immoral’ sex is… for them to have lots of sex… which under Sharia psycho-waffle won’t count as sinning if it is done with women who have been kidnapped, imprisoned and paid for for the purpose.
Not long now before The Onion is completely obsolete.

It’s difficult to find a source for that quote which doesn’t come from a blatantly anti-Muslim site, but here’s one example from a site set up by the Iranian opposition:

Muna Khan at Al Arabiya, a plugged-in, progressive woman, could make a difference by examining her misogynistic faith with a clear eye. She has chosen the less intellectually honest path of pooh poohing the parts she doesn’t like. She addresses the symptoms but not the cause. I wonder if she has ever chosen to explain away Sura 4:34.

Hm… here’s a quote from one of the most “progressive” men of the 20th Century on how to solve his country’s population problem –
Which is the better business idea, buy sex slaves or sell baby makers?
June 12th, 2011 at 7:25 pm
So a woman who dresses in a black tent and supports a religion that forbids her from drinking a pint of ale with packet of pork scratchings says slavery is OK. That is what islam does to your brain.
June 12th, 2011 at 7:39 pm
Yeah Palaverer. I see your point, what with me being an overweight bastard with sex slaves. If I leave the ankle chains on I can’t get their legs open, and if I take the chains off I can’t bloody catch ‘em. Maybe I should just wank off in the sauna. That should kill two birds with one stoning (as we like to say in Saudi Arabia!).
June 12th, 2011 at 7:58 pm
Maybe if she was made to be a slave she wouldn’t think it was such a good idea.Apparently the Golden Rule has no place in Islam
June 12th, 2011 at 9:50 pm
There are several videos of Dr Zakir Naik trying to explain why the Koran not only fails to condemn slavery, but also encourages sex with enslaved women (Guantanamo Bay supposedly has some relevance to this – surprise, surprise – but I couldn’t follow his reasoning!). Here is a brilliant clip, however, in which he claims that although Old Mo didn’t actually condemn slavery, he “set the ball rolling” – pull the other one please!!

Bit sad, really, that she is willing to put other women into slavery without a second thought yet she can’t recognise her own slavery.

I bet she’s beating men off with a shitty stick. She must be very worried about them lusting over her.
Or at least thinking about the broad theme.
