THE latest bit of lunacy from Christian Voice’s Stephen “Birdshit” Green is an on-line petition calling on British PM David Cameron to stop promoting sodomy in Africa.
The alleged wife and child-beater is incensed that Cameron has:
Promised he would use foreign aid to promote gay rights in Africa.
The petition – like so many of Green’s pathetic antics of the past – is doomed to failure. To date, he has only managed to attract 555 signatures.

So why am I lobbying for its removal?
Because there is a principle at issue here. iPetitions has very clear guidelines concerning the petitions it publishes, and Green’s is clearly in breach of the rule which, under the heading of “tolerance”, states:
We will not accept any petition which discriminates on grounds of race, class, sex, ethnicity, political affiliation, or sexual orientation. We reserve the right to refuse any petition which we feel does not contribute to an open and democratic exchange of ideas.
After spotting this, regular Freethinker contributor, Marcus, emailed me today to say he had contacted iPetitions, and urged others to add their voices in support of his complaint:
Given that the above petition has been lodged by an openly anti-gay hate group, and is requesting signatures to a petition which is openly and unequivocally homophobic, I respectfully request that you review it immediately and that it is removed forthwith.

In support of his complaint, Marcus referred iPetitions to a video – Save Africa from Sodomy – created by the Green creature. It has not exactly set YouTube on fire. So far it has attracted just over 1,000 viewers.
YouTube too has rules about content.
We encourage free speech and defend everyone’s right to express unpopular points of view. But we don’t permit hate speech (speech which attacks or demeans a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity).
The video is clearly in breach of this rule, and I complained:
The creator of this video, Stephen Green of Christian Voice, is a notorious British hatemonger, and the views he expresses in it can only serve to promote discrimination and violence against gay people in African countries. Please remove it forthwith.

I don’t agree with removing his video from youtube, if you censor every contrary opinion no matter how repugnant, how will people ever judge for themselves?
As for the petition, mehh the ipetitions site is purely for the govt to promote it’s own ideas, and then say it was because we asked them to. One of the oldest tricks in the book.

My Post to GREEN – “God almighty! You must understand Stephen, that being gay is not a choice. See those smiling children in your video – some of those innocent little children are gay – and will grow up into gay adults – IF THEY ARE NOT MURDERED FIRST by adults whipped up into a frenzy by your hateful rhetoric. How can you go to places where poverty is such an issue and yet still call for those defenceless children to be put to death? You are psychotic – do you ever consider the harm you cause?”
@Serai – while I too am opposed to all forms of censorship some restraint is needed; how about not calling out “fire” in a theatre or even, not using the bible to justify murdering someone for being born gay?
Some people – like Green – are too shit thick to judge right and wrong for themselves – they need to be told the difference – I’m not saying it would make the world better – those rioters stealing TV’s knew it was wrong but did it anyway – but those little kids in Green’s video have a tough life as it is – Now when gay people in africa are murdered merely on the basis of middle eastern stories from 2000 years ago, told to them by a fantasist from north wales – don’t you agree that it’s gone beyond taking the piss in terms of bickering over right and wrong?

I must say I also don’t agree with trying to get the video/petition removed. Censorship is not an answer. And if he can be censored for petitioning against ‘financial support of gay rights’, couldn’t we be censored for petitioning against financial support of religious activities?

Sorry, I completely, 100% disagree with you.
Green is a hate-monger of the worst kind. Everything he does and says is geared towards discriminating against and vilifying a particular section of humanity. He is encouraging others to adopt his hate-filled views in the hope that they will help him ruin the lives of fellow human beings. And it’s all based on what he has read in a book written by Iron-Age goat herders.
I am not gay. But I abhor everything that Green stands for. He should not be allowed to openly encourage hatred. He should be challenged and shut down at each and every turn.
As far as I’m concerned, if enmity and prejudice is all you can contribute to the world and the society we live in, then you forgo your right to have your voice heard.
Stephen Green is one of the very worst offenders.

I fully agree with your campaign against the odious Green, but ever since witnessing his protestations of “feeling persecuted” after the seagull incident,I wonder if we should refer to him as Stephen “Birdshit” Green,, or my particular favourite, Stephen “Birdshithead” Green?
