PITY poor Stacy Trasancos. Her Catholic credentials are impeccable. She has seven kids. But producing a large litter is not the problem: gay people are.
The Catholic mum harbours a pathological horror of homosexuals. So much so that she now fears leaving her Massachusetts home. According to this report, her extreme homophobia was sparked by the sight of two men at a local swimming pool who were:

Stacy Trasancos
Effeminately rubbing elbows.
Gasp!
Silly Stacy expressed her disgust on her blog, acceptingabundance.com.
But evidently not an abundance of gayness. In another instance, Trasancos described a trip to a local park, in which she saw two women rubbing each other’s backs in a way that was:
Clearly not just friendly affection.
This was too much for the Baptist-turned-Catlick:
I find myself unable to even leave the house anymore without worrying about what in tarnation we are going to encounter.
Gay ducks having it away in the pond, perhaps?
She raged:
We are responsible citizens. We live by the rules, we pay our taxes, we take care of our things. I’m supposed to be able to influence what goes on in my community, and as a voter I do exercise that right.
But I’m outnumbered. I can’t even go to normal places without having to sit silently and tolerate immorality.
And there’s more:
We all know what would happen if I asked two men or two women to stop displaying, right in front of me and my children, that they live in sodomy.
Trasancos, a former research chemist, says her family has been threatened with kidnap, rape and murder since she wrote the comments.
She has an ally: Lisa Graas, who wrote on The American Catholic:
My friend Stacy Trasancos, a fellow Catholic mom who is concerned about the world her children have to grow up in, is under attack from the ‘gay rights’ community for daring to writewhat she thinks about public displays of affection. She’s received death threats, which she has reported to law enforcement, and is naturally questioning whether or not she should continue to simply speak publicly about her beliefs.
I believe it is important at this time for the Catholic blogosphere to come to her aid by offering support in the form of encouragement and in the form of condemning the tactics of the ‘gay rights’ movement against people of faith who simply would like to take their kids to the park without having to risk exposure to depravity, not to mention who would simply like to write what they think about things on a blog.

Death threats are surely not acceptable. Freedom of speech – especially when you disagree with what is being said – should be sacrosanct. I respect this woman’s right to stay inside her house with the curtains closed in case she sees something unacceptable. I respect her right to express her opinions in her blog without intimidation. I also respect her right to ignore everyone and everything she disapproves of.
September 19th, 2011 at 2:27 pm
If we have the right to be in public without fear of being exposed to “depravity” then the churches need to be closed and religious people confined to their homes. But as far as I recall, there’s nothing in federal or any state law that grants us such a right.
September 19th, 2011 at 2:29 pm
What is it about the gay community that christians especially hate? I’m not gay myself, but surely what goes on between 2 consenting adults has nothing to do with other people.
If someone wants to dress as a chicken whilst the other spanks them, again, if between 2 consenting adults, it’s harmless and nothing to do with her.
September 19th, 2011 at 2:39 pm
@tony e
That has always been my question. What is so wrong with gay stuff? It seems to push all possible buttons. I am not of the ‘she must be a repressed lesbian’ school of thought, but I often do wonder. Jesus said nothing at all on the subject, as far as I know, so it should not be top of christians’ list of abominations.
Re death threats. I wonder if that is true. You can imagine someone being so annoyed they might say ‘you deserve to die horribly’ or equivalent. I am not saying that is OK at all, really, but it is not actually ‘I am going to come and kill you’. I wonder what the police are doing about it.

I suspect it’s mostly that their neoconservative leaders wanted an easy target to distract the sheeple with, and the sheeple, being sheeple, went for it.
And the chicken thing’s probably fine—as long as it’s a heterosexual chicken…
Gotta say, though, death and rape threats are not the way to go. Sadly, after seeing all the elevatorgate muck, I can easily imagine it happening.

Jesus loved men,in fact he went around with many. So will this stupid woman please speak up about how bad Jesus was .I think not.

Us chickens: “I respect this woman’s right to stay inside her house with the curtains closed in case she sees something unacceptable. I respect her right to express her opinions in her blog without intimidation.”
In fact, face it, you love her and want to marry her.
Lucy: “Re death threats. I wonder if that is true.”
Highly unlikely. This woman is clearly both deranged and desperately craving undeserved attention. I wouldn’t believe a single word she says. She probably doesn’t even genuinely “disapprove” of gay people, it’s just a way to gain easy notoriety.
September 19th, 2011 at 3:08 pm
One of the comments on that catholic blog was from “catholic economist”:
“us catholics – well at least me – want to create a catholic united states (where actual freedom of thought would exist)”
I’m glad one of them has finally admitted it. That freedom of thought would obviously only be “catholic” thought – whatever that might be. I don’t think this wanker realizes that a “catholic united states” is totally unconstitutional and would have to compete with the baptist united states, the islamic united states, the methodist united states, the hindu united states, the buddhist united states, the mormon united states etc, etc, etc, etc……..
This is one moron who actually could get me to take my rifle off the wall again….

“I find myself unable to even leave the house anymore without worrying about what in tarnation we are going to encounter.”
This is really great news – because I’m very worried about going out in public in case I run into ignorant intolerant bigots. Now that I know there is one less out there I feel a little more secure.
September 19th, 2011 at 3:27 pm
@Lucy – I’ve often felt that the reason christians have such a fixation about other peoples love lives, is due to the simple fact that theirs must be crap. I’d hate to live in a world where sex was purely procreational.
@Daz – Of course it has to be a hetrosexual chicken, if it was a homosexual chicken then that’s just sick!!

Could I ask you, please, to never kiss your boyfriend in front of children? Hahahahahahaha!!!

This woman is plain old INSANE and does not speak for religious people as a group. I have this need to paraphrase Ghandi- “Your Christ I like, your Christians I do not like, They are unlike your Christ.”
This woman is one of the worst of all the haters out there. She hates in the name of God. I hope she repents and asks forgiveness. She knows nothing about Christianity. I feel for her children. I also fear for her children. She has 7 children and by God’s grace will have many grandchildren. Studies have shown that one in 10 persons is homosexual. If she continues with HER “faith based” hatred ……..

“We are responsible citizens. We live by the rules, we pay our taxes, we take care of our things. I’m supposed to be able to influence what goes on in my community,”
Says it all. The fundamentalist mindset is that they are the good eggs and for following the rules of their particular god they should be rewarded with being able to control their entire community and shape it to their own whims. I often hear them accuse atheists of becoming their own gods, but really these people do tend to desire that power for themselves, and are driven rabid by the fact that the rest of society can shrug and carry on. I think what really concerns them about children seeing ‘depravity’ on display is not what damage it might do, but what little impact it will actually have. As soon as it becomes clear that it doesn’t harm children to see gents effeminately rubbing elbows, then another reason for kicking the gays and treating them like second class citizens is destroyed.
September 19th, 2011 at 4:21 pm
I’m surprised this hasn’t been said already.
Shouldn’t she be more concerned about her kids being around priests??
September 19th, 2011 at 4:33 pm
Well said, Zombiehunter!
Daz: I believe the people who first posted it. Goodness knows where this guy got it, because I have searched in vain for it before!

Seven children. What are the chances that one morning she is going to wake up and discover that one or more of the siblings is gay? More than 50%, I would say. That is going to be hell for the poor little blighter(s).
September 19th, 2011 at 4:44 pm
I don’t agree with any death threats to her for expressing her bigoted views. That’s not on, free speech means that sometimes I have to listen to views that I really don’t like (such as hers) but she does have a right to express herself without being threatened. There is absolutely nothing wrong however with taking her demented opinions apart and showing them up to be stupid.
Two men rubbing elbows, two women rubbing each others backs, THAT’S IT? FFS, does she want all displays of affection to be outlawed in public? It’s not like they were actually humping each other is it?
Er, yeah, so do gays and lesbians, so what?
So gays and lesbians are the majority now?
Anyways, as ZombieHunter has pointed out, she should be more worried about catholic priests than with gays and lesbians, at least the gays and lesbians aren’t peadophiles.
September 19th, 2011 at 4:54 pm
I wonder if she has any problems with her children around priests? She needs to have a copy of the Cloyne Report in her mail. A careful and objective – no chance – reading would enlighten her.
I wonder about the kind of children she is rearing. Good chance of them being unbalanced. Suppose, horror or horrors, one of them is gay?
This is another example of the destabilising effects of religious belief.
September 19th, 2011 at 5:21 pm
I’m not sure that she HAS received any death threats. Apparently, people have been saying things like “I hope your children die of cancer”. I agree that that sort of thing is well out of order, but these are the same claims that Melanie Phillips was making when she was under attack. No one took her claims of “death threats” seriously!

Straight couples who are in sin are at least involved in an attraction which is ordered properly and is a natural inclination. They are still sinning, of course, but their attraction is not disordered and against the natural law.
Gay couples do not have ordered attractions. When they act on those attractions, they act against the natural law.
If my children see a heterosexual couple (married or not) displaying mild romantic affection (handholding, quick pecks), there is no scandal or loss of innocence to my children.
Not so with two men kissing or two women kissing.
I resent that children have to be the ones sacrificed for the adults’ selfish needs to be told by the world that their sin is good.
It really is one of the most depressing things about being a parent in this era and in this nation.
Comment on her blog!

Rape threats from gay men, seriously?
September 19th, 2011 at 7:23 pm
I been reading this page for a several months and I really like it, but sometimes I’m not agree with the fact that everyone that believes in a religion, is stupid, crazy, nuts, etc. etc.
I born in a Catholic family, my parents pray every day, they gave me a good education, good values, they teach me valuable lessons, I respect them and I admire them. The only difference between them and I, is that I born in other times, they didn’t had access to the same information that I had in these days, they grew up under certain catholic values and that’s the only way of live they knew over the most part of their life. I cannot judge them because they believe that homosexuality is a sin, even when I have a complete different opinion on that kind of matter.
I think we need to understand that Christianity has 2000 year of existence, and in some countries in the past years there was no option than fallowing the bible, we need to understand that we cannot erase 2000 years with a couple of blogs, and we need to be more tolerant with people who still believes in God.
We ask for tolerance so we need to provide some too.
September 19th, 2011 at 7:36 pm
Tony: I don’t know the answer to that, but you have to be careful that you’re not gazumped!
September 19th, 2011 at 8:20 pm
I suspect this woman may have made an ill judged call. She thought her comments would attract admiration and respect from people saying, “At last, someone has spoken out.” In fact, she is revealed as someone with a medieval mindset and locked in the barren and vicious bigotry of her church. The irony is that it is her own church, which condemns as far as it can (which isn’t very far any more) young men to live lives of severe repression. The consequence has been a church in which paedophilia and various other perversions and cruelties is endemic.
September 19th, 2011 at 9:04 pm
@Mike Guillen,
You are right in your assertion that not ‘everyone that believes in a religion, is stupid, crazy, nuts, etc.’
What, I think, this website does is help expose the extremes that religious faith/fervour/beliefs drives people to. I’ve yet to see an article which condemns people out of hand. I think, scratch that, I know that atheists, by their very nature, are more tolerant than believers.
September 19th, 2011 at 9:41 pm
I noted that contributors to this lady’s blog argued that Massacusetts is a dreadful godless state which the said contributors wished never to visit again. May I observe as a resident of Edinburgh (UK) that my wife daughter and I visited said state last year and found it to be populated with delightful, civilised (UK spelling) and friendly people. Maybe that is due to all the godlessness.
September 19th, 2011 at 10:02 pm
This vile bigot and baby factory has most likely made up all this stuff – threats of rape from a Gay man, FFS! There is no depth to which xtains will go to encourage hatred against Gays, and they get away with it. But ask an xtain to obey the same laws as everyone else and they squeal persecution. Another attention seeking xtain fruitcake.

She lives in Sodomy, Massachusetts? Sounds like she should have read between the lines before moving…
September 20th, 2011 at 1:25 am
@ Peter,
My wife’s from Massachusetts and I think it’s fair to say that we can translate “dreadful godless state” to mean “liberal, Democratic” state.
Whilst I’m sure that there are religous nuts like her in the state, they’re a lot thinner on the ground than in some of the more southerly states, I think.
It’s a very gay-friendly state, too.
September 20th, 2011 at 1:30 am
@ barriejohn,
I was about to say, I wonder if she’s as offended by PDAs by straight people, and was fairly confident that she wouldn’t be. Thanks for confirming.
PDAs don’t bother me, but I have to say I’m not a fan of really hot and heavy ones, from anyone. I just wish they’d wait till they got home!
In my entire life, I have never seen a “hot and heavy” PDA from a gay couple. I’ve seen plenty by straight people though.
Hmmm, guess maybe that means the gay folks are more respectful of other people then.
September 20th, 2011 at 2:09 am
Mike Guillen: “I cannot judge them because they believe that homosexuality is a sin, even when I have a complete different opinion on that kind of matter.”
But surely you can appreciate that your attitude towards your parents would likely be very different if you yourself were gay. In fact there’s a good chance you’d be permanently estranged from them, as is often the case with gay people burdened with religious nutcase parents.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:08 am
Mike Guillen
Try this for tolerance:
I as an atheist, think gay people should be able to be married in church if they so wish, and that sects which wish to perform such ceremonies should be free to do so.
Religious sects which disagree with gay marriage also work to make sure that sects which do agree with it are not free to perform those ceremonies.
So. Which of the above fits your definition of ‘religious tolerance’?
September 20th, 2011 at 4:49 am
Death threats are unacceptable, but considering that this woman’s “extreme homophobia was sparked by the sight of two men at a local swimming pool who were… effeminately rubbing elbows,” I’d say that she’s likely just full of shit.

If she seen a man and woman expressing affections toward each other at that same park and knew they were having an affair…would she and her children throw stones at them like their magical book tells them to?
This is the type of person who creates such a hateful environment that should one of her children actually turn out to be gay they will prob commit suicide, or lose themselves in drugs or alcohol out of guilt.
And like many have said here, her children are at more risk of something sexually happening to them through their church than any park they may visit…but I guess she is OK with that!

@ barriejohn,
Haha, Catholic Bubble indeed.
These sites are great, but I can never read them for long, either because I get annoyed at the stupidity.
Does Stacy ever say exactly where she is in Massachusetts? My wife is curious after I told her about it.
My brother just got back from Rome, by the way. He went to the Vatican “well, you have to, don’t you” (no, you don’t). He and his wife and the other couple they were with were refused entry because their wives were not dressed appropriately.
They went back the next day, I think. My brother’s pal wanted to take a photo of the inside of (I think) the dome of St Peter’s Basilica, so he lay down on the floor to take it directly upwards. The security went mental and they were close to getting chucked out.
*would only go to the Vatican border to flick them the v’s*
September 20th, 2011 at 2:53 pm
PeteH: The security went mental and they were close to getting chucked out.
Of course. How are they going to make money flogging pics of St Peter’s if tourists are taking their own? You must realize by now that the Catholic Church is just a cash-generating operation.
September 20th, 2011 at 2:59 pm
@ barriejohn,
I think photography was allowed in there though. They just seemed to object to him laying on the floor.
Photography wasn’t allowed in the Cistine Chapel though.
By the way, to bring us back to the Nadine Dorries tale again, I got a letter from my MP the other day. (I had written to her to urge her to vote against the dotty bint Dorries).
Her letter told me that she did indeed vote against Dorries’ motion, and also said that I might be interested to know that “the Pro-Life organisation The Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child did not support it either and wrote to all MPs urging them to share their view.”
So even the pro-lifers think Dorries is off her nut.
September 20th, 2011 at 7:04 pm
@Bubblecar I understand that every family is different I don’t participate in religion matters in my family they’re not agree but they respect that, I only say that is very hard to change the mind of someone that has been raised under certain religion dogmas, and that doesn’t make them nutcase parents.
@Daz we all know that some religious people are intolerant that is not the point, but if they are intolerant we should be too?

Just read Leviticus 20:13.
Well that’s religion.
September 21st, 2011 at 6:06 pm
@Mike Guillen – I get your point, and to an extent I agree. Having been raised as a Catholic and having been a true, true believer as only an imaginative child can, I recall the paralysing sense of fear that kept me following the rules as best I could. I understand how having been steeped in that for a lifetime can make it extremely difficult for someone to shrug off what they have been told. However, I do think it is reasonable to consider those whose religious inclinations lead them to try to cause harm to other people or prevent them going about their daily lives to be suffering from some kind of mental illness. That is what mental illness is, when disordered thinking leads you to take actions that have a negative impact on your life or the lives of those around you.
Not to mention this religious mindset is very selective and inconsistent. When someone goes to such lengths to make other people’s lives difficult because of a few lines in a book and ignore so much else from it, it does lead people to wonder where that preference for anti-gay facets of the faith comes from. I can see why people become very dismissive and somewhat aggressive when faced with that. It’s not as if most people who base their issues with homosexuality on religious teaching are as equally vocal about their opposition to cheeseburgers.
September 21st, 2011 at 6:47 pm
Mike Guillen
Yeah, I do see your point, but what we’re mostly intolerant of is intolerance, along with unwanted interference in non-religious affairs. I think most people here would have no problem with religion if it didn’t actively promote both.
September 22nd, 2011 at 6:49 pm
I am an atheist, but I used to be a missionary for the Catholic Church. Please allow me to enlighten you that most priests are covertly gay. In seminary I never knew one who was not doing the “flippy flop” with another man. Not one.
Today I am atheist simply because I read the Bible. I don’t think she has. She’s cast a moral judgement at gay people, abortion, and one other thing I don’t remember, but I wonder if she will stone to death one or more of her children when they are older and become more mouthy. It is a commandment from God in the OT. Also, Exodus chapter 22-23 shows us clearly that “God” didn’t think the fetus was as valuable as the mother. Full stop. If the Stacies of the world wish to be paranoid and raise neurotic or rebellious children, she has that right. She does NOT, however, have the right to impose her point of view onto the people of Massachusetts or any other state. In fact, the Bible says clearly in the New Testament that she is to abide by the law of the land.
Stacy is just a homophobe. Nothing more. Either that, or she’s never even read the Bible. Likely she has cherry picked her way through it. And that’s very revealing of a horrendously judgemental nature. Shame on her set of “morals”. They include intolerance, bigotry, and unforgiveness. What a life to lead!
September 23rd, 2011 at 4:12 am
Human trash like her are reproducing in an insane pace.. Just nuke this whole fucking planet from orbit.
September 27th, 2011 at 1:02 am
So, if you’re gay and a good citizen, pay your taxes, live up to your civic responsibilities, are involved in your community, you’re immoral and a bad example to Stacy’s children? Huh?
The two examples she gives are “living in sodomy”? My sister and I often stand with our arms around each other when we watch our kids play. Does that mean we’re living in sodomy?
How do you “rub elbows effeminately” and what the hell are “doe eyes”? Is it a sex act? Or were two guys she assumed to be gay sitting next to each other having a conversation?
And what’s up with that “illegal immigrant” thing? ONE illegal immigrant drives drunk, and she’s afraid to leave her house lest hoardes of drunken illegal immigrants run her over? The majority of DUI related automobile deaths are perpetrated by legal citizens. How come she’s not afraid to leave the house because of them?
She’s a bigot AND a racist.
She’s also a complete hypocrite. She’s been married THREE times! THREE. And divorced. I guess that marriage is between a man and a woman and divorce being wrong thingy only applies to other people. What a skank.
