IS IT me, or is America’s 2012 presidential campaign throwing more religious lunatics into sharp relief than any in the past?

Dozier, left, and Santorum
Take, for example, the Rev O’Neal Dozier, a wingnut described here as “a firebrand social conservative”, who heads the Worldwide Christian Center in Pompano Beach, Florida. Dozier loathes Islam and cares even less for The Gays:
Dozier, honorary chairman of wannabe president Rick Santorum’s Florida campaign, once declared that homosexuality was:
Something so nasty and disgusting that it makes God want to vomit.
Santorum, “a conservative darling in the Republican presidential race”, yesterday spoke from the pulpit at Dozier’s Church.
At a Reclaiming America convention in 2003, Dozier declared that:
We should take control of every facet of society.
He added that God was:
100 percent for capital punishment. Oh, yeah, God knew some were going to slip through, a few innocent ones. He knew that. But you cannot have a society without capital punishment.
He also said:
God would never ordain a government to take from the rich to give to the poor, you see, so therefore God is not a socialist. God is not a Robin Hood.
After Santorum said his piece at the Worldwide Christian Center, Dozier told the Palm Beach Post that Mitt Romney was bound not for the White House, but for hell:
You can look at the June Gallup poll that shows the people have already spoken – 22 percent of the electorate will not vote for a Mormon.
He added:
Blacks are not going to vote for anyone of the Mormon faith. The book of Mormon says the Negro skin is cursed.

Dozier. Will you please decease from making up these stupid names Barry – I’ve had enough of it!

“Blacks are not going to vote for anyone of the Mormon faith. The book of Mormon says the Negro skin is cursed.”
Hmmm. Perhaps he should look upon gays as the “new” blacks.
Doesn’t he realize that a lot of Southerners look upon blacks the same way that he feels about gays?
That they can’t stand the thought that a black man is POTUS.
A man whose ancestors were slaves and treated like less then human should remember the past and should be very, very careful before pointing his finger at others.
The fact that a candidate for POTUS even entered that church should be cause for shame and disgust. It is appalling that republicans think this is OK.

Nuttier than Mr Nutty from Nutworld.

Wow, Dozier knows exactly what god wants and thinks. How amazing must that be!
Just one tiny, teeny-weeny little thing worries me – how does god tell him all this? In dreams? Uses fridge magnet letters to spell everything out? Appears mysteriously on Dozier’s TV screen? Leaves Post-It notes lying about the place? Sends him emails? Texts? Sets fire to bushes in Dozier’s garden which he then uses as some kind of cosmic PA system?
I have to confess, I’m intrigued.

Maybe there is a typo in the Bible.
1 Samuel 2:10 ‘Out of heaven shall He chunder upon them…’

Some say that ignorance is bliss. It must be great to know so little about anything and, as a result, just be able to say any shit that you just made up and not know that you are wrong. “You cannot have a society without capital punishment.” Presumably he is unaware that lots of countries do and that those countries have lower crime rates than his.

So if rain is god’s tears and thunder is god moving his thunder around then what earthly form would god’s puke take??

See the photo in the OP.
I’d just like to correct Barry Duke’s lamentable lapse in not providing the proper link along with Santorum’s name.

Pastor Numpty here was dead wrong about everything but the Book of Mormon saying that people with dark skin were cursed by God.
January 23rd, 2012 at 8:53 pm
Looka here, http://www.twwcc.org/about/pastors-corner/ Rev Dozier done played basketball, bodybuildin, fought in Vietnam, served on this committee an that, got hisself a Ph.D in law and invited Jesus into his heart, and the Lawd Jesus was proud to be accepted by such a swell guy.

I love this bit, Steve:
In 2001, Governor Jeb Bush appointed Rev. Dozier to a two-year term on the Seventeenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC). The JNC screens and interviews applicants for circuit judgeships. Rev. Dozier considered his assignment to the JNC “a blessing from God.” He looked upon his appointment as an opportunity to honor God and to promote righteousness and godliness through the selection of ”. . . God-fearing candidates . . . good judges regardless of color . . . .” In 2003, Governor Bush appointed Rev. Dozier to an additional four-year term on the JNC. In 2005 Governor Bush appointed Rev. Dozier to the Board of Directors of the adoption program, One Church, One Child of Florida, Inc.
If it weren’t for the fact that I’m an atheist, I would get down on my bended knees and thank God that I wasn’t born in America!

PS Note that he promoted judges “regardless of color”, but not regardless of religion. Was that constitutional? However, following up on AgentCormac’s comment, this guy apparently knows EVERYTHING about God!

Steve & barriejohn
If they’re quoting him accurately, he just admitted a first amendment violation by making religion a criterion for employment.

I wonder what a row is like in the Dozier household:
“Gahhd wants YOU to do the dishes.”

If it makes god vomit, tell god to try not swallowing
January 24th, 2012 at 12:02 am
Gay people make God want to vomit, but somehow he’s unaffected by child-diddling priests. Go figure
January 24th, 2012 at 12:17 am
Well, he *was* right about how blacks are depicted by the Mormon faith….

This pastor and the other Christian nut-jobs like him are exactly as their book demands that they be… or close enough. It is not a holy book, it’s a training manual for bigots and haters. The world deserves to see and understand exactly what that book and its followers have been hiding with the pretense of goodness. Its a disgusting and vile religion as are all monotheistic religions. The world NEEDS to see their true colors so we can all hate them for what they are, so that other understand that they are hated not because atheists don’t believe in gods, but because they are vile and despicable. Every single believer who fails to stand against the hate and bigotry of their religious dogma is more guilty than those that show their religion inspired hate and bigotry without shame.
Forget that hate the sin, love the sinner crap. Hate them hard and loud enough to make them rethink their rationales. Hold this pastor up, not as a sign of whackaloonery, but as a fine example of what the Christian bible demands of all adherents.
This pastor is as bigoted as his faith demands.
This pastor is as hateful as his faith demands.
This pastor is as vengeful as his faith demands.
This pastor is as violent in his hears as his faith demands.
And finally, This pastor is as fucking stupid and ignorant as his faith demands.
I cannot fathom where he thinks blacks did any better in his bible than they did under slavery.
YES PEOPLE, this guy is a fine example of that the Christian Bible demands of its adherents. Don’t criticize him, hate him, despise him. Shun him from all facets of society. Tell him to his face what a birdshit crazy bigot he really is. Maybe it will start to sink in some day. Maybe tarring and feathering him in the public conscious will help guide others away from such stupidity in their lives. Do this not because he is crazy, but because he is exactly what his faith requires that he be.
There is no god. There is no reason to suffer the delusional among the rest of us. The cure is knowledge. Make sure he gets some – the hard way.
January 24th, 2012 at 7:32 am
well, I have read the article, the posts and checked the links.
There is only one possible conclusion to the puzzle, AgentCormac,
O’Neal Dozier is god!
January 24th, 2012 at 8:43 am
Isn’t there something in the bible about black people being descendants of Ham/Canann and cursed to eternal slavery by Noah? And I wonder how this idiot deals with racists who used this to justify slavery.
Another religious wacko who claims to speak for his imaginary friend with bigger fools who believe him.
January 24th, 2012 at 9:08 am
God was: “100 percent for capital punishment….”
Well, it would be difficult to argue against that claim.

Nice post MrZ.

Good grief! Given what Santorm’s name has been used to define, you’d think someone would have pointed out to him that calling his new money-raising enterprise 'Conservatives Unite Moneybomb' might be a bad idea…
January 24th, 2012 at 11:12 am
I just checked, Santorum still hasn’t fixed his Google problem either.
January 25th, 2012 at 3:20 am
Guess that’s why I can’t go near a church….. Churches make me vomit!
January 25th, 2012 at 12:18 pm
Barriejohn…(He looked upon his appointment as an opportunity to honor God and to promote righteousness and godliness through the selection of ”. . . God-fearing candidates)
This is a violation of our constitution, the separation of church and state. But Christians believe they are above the law, because their god, master of the universe has the final decision. So, since they are his followers they are above the law and can enforce any cockamamie thought that enterers their head.
God must hate little baby’s too since he creates so many of them with life long birth defects.
