Major fail: fundie preacher accidentally choses a shot from a ‘wicked TV show’ for his ebook cover

DOUG Sehorne, a “hardcore King James Baptist evangelist” who describes himself as an “old-fashioned bible preacher”, recently released his latest turgid e-book entitled Bible Principles of Child Discipline (from the Book of Proverbs).

Not being a man of the world (but savvy enough to trawl Google Images) Sehorne, who lives in Walterboro, South Carolina, found an “ideal” pic for the cover, not knowing that it was a publicity shot for ABC acclaimed Modern Family.

The show has been roundly denounced by most fundamental religious groups for featuring an openly homosexual couple with an adopted child.

When Sehorne was alerted to his his embarrassing boob, he posted this message (now removed) on his Facebook page:

We wonder whether this pic is reproduced in his book:

Note: He has 39 followers. Oh … the ass now has 74 …

“I would never condone such wickedness as sodomy or even TV”. Sodomy comparable to TV? Maybe that’s why when I watch TV, my a** sores…

39 followers? That’s nearly half as many as me.

This entry is just too funny to lampoon, you couldn’t make this shit up.

I see that Doug describes himself as “Dynamic-Compassionate Separated.” Separated from what? Common sense perhaps.

    @ Broga

    Reality, more like.

  5. barriejohn says:

He’s obviously not THAT “old-fashioned”, as none of the women in his pics have their heads covered!

BTW, Brother Seehorn is very exercised about “false prophets” (who’da guessed it?):

  6. Trevor Blake says:

I think it’s just terrible how you guys are picking on this liberal, modern, progressively-minded spiritual leader. Leviticus 20:13 says he should kill homosexuals and all he does is ‘not condone’ homosexuals.

  7. jay says:

    “I assumed it wasn’t copyrighted ”

This guy is really that dumb?? People look to him for advice??

If God had meant us to use the internet he’d have…..well, I can’t actually think of a good way to finish that one, but I knew many Christians who read newspapers (“you can’t cut yourself off from the world completely”) and even listened to the radio, but drew the line at owning a television (the Devil’s Vision). Strange. Anyway, Dougie has impeccable taste in music (isn’t that of the devil as well, then?):

Hate to say but this church is what made Aultman a miserable place to live. I still can’t forget the outside loudspeakers that would go on until late in the evening and the many occasions on which the police were called because of it. might not have been bad living on the other side of town but when? you lived directly below it, it was quite repulsive, annoying, and loud. not something which one would want to hear when trying to sleep especially considering having to get up at 5am each morning…

We checked out your link to the Baptist Youth Singers…
That would be my version of hell if it existed! Can you even imagine being forced fed for that for eternity?

A couple things scare me about that:

    1. There are actually “people” out there that want to listen to that, and enjoy it.

2.That you found it in the first place. 🙂

What a great role model Sehorne for child “rearing”.

  10. Matt+Westwood says:

The worst thing about that baptist singers post is the arrant hypocrisy underpinning it. These children are encouraged to stand up in front of a load of people and show off!

  11. barriejohn says:

LakeTonkaMark: It’s one of Seehorn’s YouTube videos!

Matt: Music is sinful (invented by the descendents of Cain): entertainment is of the devil: women are to have their heads covered: let the women be silent in the church; how on earth can he claim to be a follower of the King James Bible?

  12. barriejohn says:

LakeTonkaMark: I’ve posted this before – a little poem that was a great favourite of a godless lecturer of mine way back when!

The burning at first would be probably worst,
But habit the anguish might soften,
While those who are bored by praising the Lord
Would be more so by praising Him often.
