Two more Christian hypocrites exposed

Two more Christian hypocrites exposed

A GODLY politician and a mega-church pastor have separately confessed to cheating on their wives.

Republican Congressman Vance McAllister from Louisiana admitted that he had been caught on a surveillance camera snogging a woman who was not his wife, and Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale Pastor Bob Coy, 58, confessed in a letter to:

A moral failing which disqualifies him from continuing his leadership role at the church.

Father of five McAllister campaigned last year as a devout Christian, using his faith and his 16-year marriage to appeal to conservative voters

Then the Ouachita Citizen, a West Monroe, La, newspaper in the Congressman’s district, reported on a grainy video from December – which the paper says it received from an anonymous source.

Yesterday, McAllister, a Baptist, issued a statement to the News Star, a newspaper based in Monroe, La, admitting he is the man in the video.

There’s no doubt I’ve fallen short and I’m asking for forgiveness. I’m asking for forgiveness from God, my wife, my kids, my staff and my constituents who elected me to serve.

The newspaper also identified the woman as Melissa Anne Hixon Peacock, 33, who worked for the congressman. The married Peacock is cosmetologist. who was employed as McAllister’s “District Scheduler”.

A fan of Christian lunatic homophobe Willie Robertson, of the controversial reality-television show Duck Dynasty, McAllister  added:

Trust is something I know has to be earned whether you’re a husband, a father or a Congressman. I promise to do everything I can to earn back the trust of everyone I’ve disappointed.

Coy, who has led the church since its founding in 1985, said he will now focus his full attention on his personal relationship with God and his family.

The radio, television and digital media that distributes Coy’s teachings have been suspended.

Calvary Chapel said in a statement:

The governing board of the church is providing counsellors and ministers who will help guide him through the process of full repentance, cleansing and restoration.

Calvary is one of the largest churches in Florida, with some 20,000 members who worship in 10 locations across the state.

The statement added:

Trusting in God’s providence, protection, provision and direction, the staff of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale will continue our mission to ‘make disciples’ through regular services at all campuses and through myriad other ministries the church has established over the years.

Well, dang it, I got caught! So, “There’s no doubt I’ve fallen short and I’m asking for forgiveness.”

  2. barriejohn says:

McAllister’s chief of staff, Adam Terry, said that the staffer in question was removed from the Congressman’s payroll within twenty-four hours of the video going public. (Wikipedia)

Has McAllister resigned too? (Ask a stupid question!)

  3. barriejohn says:

McAllister said welfare recipients shouldn’t make more on the dole than they could get from minimum-wage jobs, opposes gay marriage and abortion, wants to investigate the IRS and pledges to shrink the size of government.

You see, gay marriage undermines the foundations of the holy sacrament of marriage, as between a man and a woman, instituted by God and upheld by the church and devout Christian believers.

  4. Broga says:

The overweening sanctimony is enough to disgust anyone with any values except Christian values. Assuming anyone knows what these are. Repentance; communing with God; counselling from other religious frauds; seeking forgiveness – the same litany every time.

But then, these men, immoral and corrupt, know how to play the game. And they know that they are appealing to an audience easily deceived and as sanctimonious and hypocritical as themselves. Is it possible to be honest with yourself, never mind others, if you are a Christian? Or do even the most devout know, at some level, that they are pretending to themselves.

Some, indeed many, are exposed but what multitudes harbour, in secret, knowledge of their sinful thoughts and acts?

AAAARRRGGHH i am so sick of these fucking bastards.

    Sorry, had to rant.

  6. AgentCormac says:

I always have to laugh at the fact that these people never, ever, ever come clean and and ask for forgiveness until they are found out. And when their human frailties are finally exposed the whole sordid thing is presented as some kind of spiritual release – almost as if the ‘torment’ of shagging some poor girl half their age night after night after night has finally lifted the weight of the world from their shoulders. Hypocritical feckin’ bastards. And yet somehow, no matter how transparent or insincere their public apology, people still happily, willingly and knowingly fall for the con, the lie, the deceit. But hey, isn’t that how religion thrives.

  7. John C says:

If every hipocrite the world over fell on their sword, parliaments the world over would be empty as well, its just a bloody good laugh when they are caught out publicly doing exactly what they preach against.

  8. 1859 says:

The good old flesh trumps the spirit yet again – man! that devil is one hell of a slippery fish!

  9. Trevor Blake says:

Does a Christian politician who has affairs support or oppose same sex marriage? One guess.

Marriage is sacred… for other people that he has legal authority over. He can do as he pleases.

  10. jay says:

    Why does this keep happening?

oh, yeah, we’re mammals. Damned evolution

  11. Robster says:

Don’t these pious twits believe that by embracing a dead magic jew from two thousand years ago(perhaps)they’ll be relieved of guilt for their ‘sin’ and baby jesus and his nasty dad will forgive them, like the rest of his ilk are required to believe or something?

  12. Paul Cook says:

I cannot agree with you on the analysis. I think its flawed!

“I always have to laugh at the fact that these people never, ever, ever come clean and and ask for forgiveness until they are found out. And when their human frailties are finally exposed the whole sordid thing is presented as some kind of spiritual release –”

These people, I would like to believe, are always praying and asking [their] god for forgiveness. If it weren’t for the likelihood there isn’t one god [or any god or a multiplicity of gods] these clowns wouldn’t need to ask us. Or their parishioners.

    and BROGA et al

you might like to have a look at this book £2 or so on kindle.
Behind the Myths – the Foundations of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, John Pickard.

Very good book to follow who wrote the bible by Friedman.

I think the best part I have read so far is archaeology evidence that yaweh had a wife! and thats what the jews believed and too believed in many gods – for quite some time. You can’t really criticise them for that then as they were in the stone age, but you can criticise them now very much that they haven’t got out of it.

  14. barriejohn says:

Paul Cook: We discussed that idea here when the following programme aired.

I believe that there were threee in the series, all exposing weaknesses in the traditional Judaeo/Christian mythology as found in our sanitised Bible. It was revelations like these – rarely aired in public – that led me to the conclusion that I had been duped by a bunch of conmen! All the programmes were well worth watching.

  15. Barry Duke says:

@ 1859: There is apparently an “epidemic” of moral failure among pastors, and yes, it IS the old Debbil to blame:

“Satan loves to attack the good ones. Others will now say, ‘See, pastors are no different from us’. And, we are not, but the enemy will attempt to use this to draw people away from their faith in Christ.”

  16. Ex Patriot says:

None of this surprises me any more. These religious twits go along doing what ever they can until caught, then they start praying to a dead jew on a stick or his non existant old man amd all will be forgiven and they can go along fooling the brain dead that believe them. Nothing changes at all

  17. The Woggler says:

Isn’t it strange that they’re so against gay marriage, which isn’t forbidden under the ten commandments, yet they’re happy to break the commandment about adultery.

  18. barriejohn says:

They’re not “happy to break the commandment”; they’ve apologized. Now, can we all move on please?

  19. Broga says:

@Paul Cook: I’ll follow that up. I liked the Friedman book.

@1859: They can’t win over the flesh. I think new priests get specialised help to try to cope with their bubbling lusts. I would like to know what really goes on in the brains of Frankie, Archbish Nichols and co.

Even their ancient holy men were on a loser. Origen castrated himself and St Jerome, trying to escape the call of the flesh in the desert was plagued with fantasies of dancing girls.

Fifteen to twenty minutes is OK; anything more and you’re in deep shit:

  21. sailor1031 says:

Oh ye hard-hearted atheists! know ye not that there is more rejoicing in Heaven over one sinner who repents…..?

Know ye also not that the devil can quote scripture?

Know ye also, also not that eighty-three percent of divorced christians wish that gays would stop threatening the sanctity of marriage?

  22. Broga says:

@barriejohn: Outstanding. Brilliant. Couldn’t be improved on. These scumbags, raking in cash and shagging promiscuously, don’t just behave like scumbags but they look like fundamentalist scumbags. They are straight out of fundamentalist evangelical casting.

I loved the bit where he shags a woman who is a Christian woman. Nope, not quite, “she looked like a Christian woman.” So what does a Christian woman look like that is different from an atheist woman? The shifty git with the fake tears had me laughing out loud.

Every atheist and Christian should watch this 16 minutes 5 seconds and enjoy the fun. This is laugh out loud funny. And yet there are so many Americans who are not only fooled by these conmen but hand their money to them. Pathetic.

A real treat. But I agree. After 15 minutes, that will be enough.

  23. barriejohn says:

Broga: Jim Bakker admitted that he had had “a fifteen to twenty minute relationship with Jessica Hahn”. Even the announcer laughed at that! More here:

  24. oldmanjenkins says:

There is a Calvary church in the area I live. Anyone I have been in contact with who is a member is a snarky, pretentious windbag who can’t say anything without invoking gawd. It is almost like a Tourette’s Syndrome. Ugg they are annoying. Tax em all. Enough with this “automatic” tax exempt status for churches. Not-for-profits actually contributing to the community by work, action, and deeds (building homes, providing food, shelter etc) and not proselytizing should be tax exempt. Of course they have to apply for exemption status here in the US. The churches neither apply nor do they have to provide financial documents. travesty

  25. Trevor Blake says:

“And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.” – Leviticus 20:10
