Florida youth pastor busted for child porn

Last year Lucas Dillon Brandenburg delivered a sermon slamming a ‘depraved culture’. Yesterday he was arrested for sharing child pornography.

According to this report, the 30-year was taken into custody after investigators said that they found a computer at his home “sharing” indecent images.

A statement from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said that the St Gabriel Episcopal Church youth pastor was arrested on 10 charges of possession of child pornography.

The statement added that agents first noticed that there was a computer at his residence in Titusville that was “sharing images of child pornography” in July.

Brandenburg was being held at the Brevard County Jail in lieu of $350,000 bond.

In a speech to the 44th Annual Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida last year, he explained why he had become a youth pastor.

My life is forever changed by the youth ministries that I attended. I went for the camps, I went for games, I went to hang out with my friends, to meet girls obviously.

He added:

Despite my wrong motives, I had an encounter with Jesus Christ, I heard his call. And like all who respond to that call, I left my pile of worthless things, and I followed him.

There are more pitfalls set before young people today than I have time to describe. The fact is we live in a dark world, and a depraved culture.
And for many teens, a youth ministry is the only port in the storm. The ministry that I run at St Gabriels is just such a ministry.

A video showing Brandenberg delivering his sermon has been removed from YouTube by Episcopal Florida.

Despite all the warnings these morons still do not believe their internet searches and downloads are monitored in this PoliceStateUSA. In fact the first monitoring was initiated by the Dubya administration specifically to find child-porn consumers – even before 9/11.

This is not even a little bit surprising, these religious nut cases think they do as they please and get away with it and suffer no problems. I kind of hope they let him think about it behind some nice bars for a long while

sailor: In this case, I am glad someone found out what he was doing. I really think the Internet has been bad for society. Men can access all the porn they want to; people are making money from demeaning children and women; and no good comes of it. Also, the anonymous internet has spawned a whole generation of hate expressed for minorities, women, and anyone we disagree with. Lies are posted as truths, and unless someone has the will and intelligence to do research, lots of those lies stay out there and grow.
But yes, we are being monitored. It was kind of inevitable, wasn’t it?

But this is to be expected in any all male situation. Such as : the military; prisons; monistaries; and other situations of voluntary sexual repression. Denying food makes one more hungry.

My friend was in a Franciscan monistary and he told me they were all in on sex ‘parties’-at least the yonger ones. This is less common among the Greek orthodox church, as they have a married clergy.

To be a preacher you either have to be wilfully ignoring the facts, refusing to reason or a liar and a hypocrite.

  7. Broga says:

I don’t want to be lookist but he does look like a smug git.

  8. L.Long says:

    Borga you forgot another alternative…..
To be a preacher you ARE ignoring the facts, you DO NOT use reason, YOU ARE A LIAR regardless of anything else, and depending on your activities you ARE most likely a hypocrite!!!!
Tell me you are a preacher of any religion and I AUTOMATICALLY assume the above statement is true and you must convince me you are not…none have done so to date.

Please don’t be so quick to judge it is pretty obvious he was doing an “investigation”… yeah right..

So many of these busted churchmen behave exactly the opposite of what the warble on about. It’s so black and white. It does appear all the anti-gay preachers are gay, all the anti-porn, anti-child porn indulge themselves in what they’re moaning about. You’d think after all these years, the jails filled to the brim with convicted clerics hiding in corners looking over their shoulders and newspapers featuring daily reports of pervert priests appearing before the courts, that clergy would be at the very bottom of the occupational trustworthy charts, which they’re not, they’re third from the lowest, at least on the one’s published (Reader’s Digest I think). Soon used car salesmen and journalists will make way for the clergy at the very bottom.
