Jew ‘terrorises’ US Air Force over God oath

TV preacher Pat Robertson, above, yesterday alleged that the Air Force had had  the ‘pants scared off them’ by ‘a left-wing Jewish radical’, Mikey Weinstein.

Earlier this month we reported that an airman was refused reenlistment by the US Air Force for refusing to take the recently reinstated “So Help Me God” oath. Since then, the Department of Defense General Counsel, to Robertson’s horror, ruled that the words could be omitted.

Although the American Humanist Association had represented the airman, Robertson unleashed a tirade against Weinstein.

There’s a left-wing radical named Mikey Weinstein who has got a group about people against religion or whatever he calls it, and he has just terrorized the armed forces. You think you’re supposed to be tough, you’re supposed to defend us, and you got one little Jewish radical who is scaring the pants off of you.

He then asked:

You want these guys flying the airplanes to defend us when you got one little guy terrorizing them? That’s what it amounts to.

He added:

You know, we swear oaths. And ‘so help me God,’ well, what does it mean? It means with God’s help, and you don’t have to say you believe in God. You just say, ‘I want some help besides myself [with] the oath I’m taking’.

The televangelist concluded that the entire situation was “crazy”.

What is wrong with the Air Force? How can they fly the bombers to defend us if they cave to one little guy?

Weinstein responded to Robertson’s remarks in a brief statement to The Friendly Atheist:

Pat Robertson is to human dignity and sanity and integrity and character what dog shit is to a fine French restaurant menu.

Is this the same Pat Robertson who used his powerful father to avoid front line service in Korea?

You can only get that level of hypocrisy from the religious.

  2. Rob Andrews says:

Pat has a nice play with the word ‘terror’It was the airman who was probably afraid of lossing his commission by the christian majority.

Being raised in the rcc I know what it’s like to be terrorized by hell fire. Inveryed morality is always used by the oppressors. For example: ‘the jews are oppressing Germany’ according to the NAZI party propagandist Goebbals. Inverted morality is an easy rebuke when you have no solid ground to argue on, otherwise

    Mikey, that is priceless! Roflmao.

I’m with Mikey and Graham. though most turds will be quite hurt at the comparison.

    “…one little Jewish radical”
    “…a left-wing Jewish radical”

    And its relevance?

At least a bit nicer than these reminding me the familiar historical expressions “dirty little atheist” and “dirty little Yid”.

Mikey delivered the goods there. No length of description could capture the fetid essence of Robertson’s character and values as well as Mikey’s few words.

  7. asquith says:

Does it signify something that Pat Robertson, while hating individual Jews, is also an ultra-Zionist? That’s a combination that’s fairly common amongst right-wing Christians and one of the excellent reason why Jewish Americans are virtually all Democrats.

“you don’t have to say you believe in God” says the confused televangelist millionaire.

Not the first time that Pat the Prick has shown his antisemitic colours:

The “Poor Jews” don’t understand antisemitism (ie they’re to blame for it!). With “friends” like that…

I genuinely appreciate and enjoy the effort that goes into comments here at The Freethinker which try to demonstrate just how brainless, hopeless and pointless the religiots of this world really are. But quite frankly, on this occasion there’s no need – Pat is doing all the work for us.

  12. barriejohn says:

@asquith: I found that amongst the Plymouth Brethren. They kept banging on in a sort of dewy-eyed, romantic way about how wonderful was “The Jew”, being “chosen by God” and so on; but actually despised Jews, and held held them responsible for their own problems. They had, after all, “rejected the Messiah.” I have alluded before to Billy Graham’s anti-Jewish rant in conversation with President Nixon; here is a really weird piece by a Christian on the subject of evangelicals and the Jews. See what YOU make of it!

His words that reflect his thinking which reflects the state of his brain are all just too, too stupid for words. Hence, I’m saying nothing more….

  15. Dioniogi says:

The phrase “so help me god”is refering to the fact that if you are telling the truth then god will help you, if you are lying then god will withdraw his help from you. This is typical religious bullying.

  16. Paul Cook says:

I always wonder why they need all this military hardware, when if god is real, and they keep telling us god is real, he/she/it can do all the killing itself. Except against those Iron Chariots of course.
