American court rules against hate pastor

The First Circuit Court of Appeals has denied Pastor Scott Lively’s petition to have a crimes against humanity lawsuit against him dropped.

According to this report, the anti-gay pastor will stand trial in a federal court in Massachusetts for his part in crafting Uganda’s notorious Anti-Homosexuality Act, popularly known as the “Kill the Gays” Bill.

The Bill was largely the product of a workshop held in Uganda by Lively and two other American anti-gay activists. It focused on “how to make gay people straight, how gay men often sodomised teenage boys and how “the gay movement is an evil institution” whose goal is “to defeat the marriage-based society and replace it with a culture of sexual promiscuity”.

In spite of the pending suit and national condemnation for his actions, Lively has not backed down. Earlier this week, during an appearance on “Trunews,” he stated that homosexuality was worse than mass murder, because it was to blame for Noah’s flood.

The news will not please Dr Judith Reisman, above, who, according to RationalWiki:

Is a supporter of Scott Lively and his completely insane screed The Pink Swastika. She has claimed that she believes that a homosexual movement in Germany gave rise to the Nazi Party and the Holocaust. She enthusiastically and unconditionally endorses the criminalization of homosexuality.

In a May 2013 column she wrote for World Net Daily  – “Boy Scouts as Pederastic Cotton Candy” – Reisman blasted the Boy Scouts of America’s decision to lift its ban on openly gay Scouts:

Eroticize the campsite and you eroticize boys to one another and to their leaders. Gay Scoutmasters’ will arrive soon to ‘help’ ‘their’ lads, to train and encourage them – to believe they are naturally ‘that way’.

Reisman in 2009 suggested the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network is:

A modern version of the Hitler Youth.

Another devoted fan of Lively is the seriously unhinged UK evangelist and wifebeater, Stephen “Birdshit” Green, who a while back wrote this about his hero:

Scott Lively, who has a personal testimony of the healing power of the Lord Jesus and is a strong advocate of Christian healing therapy for those suffering from same-sex attraction, has become a hate-figure of gay rights activists since his address on that subject to parliamentarians in Uganda was followed by the introduction of a Bill to make the promotion of sodomy in the East African nation illegal.

Coincidentally Reisman, along with another American hatemonger, Mat Staver, Chairman of the Liberty Counsel, were guests at the weekend at a Jamaica conference organised by three groups defending the country’s sodomy law.

The conference was organised by the Jamaica Coalition for a Healthy Society, the Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship and Jamaica CAUSE to coincide – please don’t laugh – with International Human Rights Day on December 10.

Te conference’s programme stated that  Staver will discuss “global legal trends impacting the institution of the family.” Reisman will spoke about:

The Kinsey heritage and the threat to family.

Angeline Jackson, Executive Director of Quality of Citizenship Jamaica, a group that advocates on behalf of lesbian and bisexual women and transgender Jamaicans, said of the conference:

I find it interesting that the groups which argue that Jamaica is importing ‘foreign values’, which urge us to resist ‘North American’ influences and which repeatedly accuse LGBT Jamaicans of being supported and assisted by ‘foreigners’ are themselves inviting ‘foreigners,’ the very same evil Americans and Europeans into our country.

It always amazes me that as Jamaicans we often resist information that is new and different to what we have known, even if it comes from other Jamaicans and worse if it is coming from a ‘white person’.

Yet we are the very same ones who will hang on to every word of the ‘white person’ who continues to provide us with information we already believe and are comfortable with.

Yvonne McCalla Sobers, chair of Dwayne’s House, an organisation that provides support to young LGBT Jamaicans who are homeless and is named after Dwayne Jones, a cross-dressing teenager who was murdered last year outside Montego Bay, agreed:

Local conservative Pentecostalists have close links with US counterparts who carry to countries like Jamaica the anti-gay venom that North America and Europe no longer tolerates. So it is no surprise to see these speakers in Jamaica. It’s just alarming to see them trying to capture International Human Rights Day. [It is] rather similar to the Ku Klux Klan trying to take over Black History Month.

Mark Clifford, co-chair of PRIDE in Action, a Kingston-based LGBT advocacy group, suggested Staver and Reisman have traveled to Jamaica because:

Anti-gay bigots are finding their world shrinking in the US. They are looking towards more fertile ground to spread their message of hate. That’s why they come to countries like Uganda, Jamaica, etc, where many people haven’t yet moved on from the Victorian conservatism of 19th century colonial life.

Anti-LGBT violence, discrimination commonplace in Jamaica. A report from the Jamaica Forum for Lesbians All-Sexuals and Gays says the organisation knows of at least 30 gay men who have been murdered on the Caribbean island between 1997 and 2004. These include J-FLAG co-founder Brian Williamson who was stabbed to death inside his Kingston home in 2004.

Jamaican Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller said shortly before her 2011 election that her government would review the country’s anti-sodomy law. A so-called conscience vote that would allow parliamentarians to consult with their constituents on the issue has yet to take place.

Javed Jaghai, a gay rights advocate who challenged the sodomy law in the Jamaica Supreme Court, in August withdrew his lawsuit because of what he described as concerns over his personal safety and that of his family.

And the difference between these vile hate spewing bigots and islam is?
    Surprise! no difference.

There are also the efforts of the adorable Andrea Minchiello Williams.

Mark Clifford is spot on ,although he could have added England into his quote.

Another American religious wacko at work. “…believes that a homosexual movement in Germany gave rise to the Nazi Party and the Holocaust.” These brainless wonders can’t even keep their conspiracy theories straight-they think the gays killed the Jews, huh?. If the gay agenda’s goal is “to defeat the marriage-based society and replace it with a culture of sexual promiscuity” then why are they fighting so hard for the right to marry? Sadly, not one of the exports this American is proud of-Intolerance in the name of god.

Don’t cloud the issue with logic.

Birdbrain & Co are absolutely paranoid about homosexuality:

But in the meantime, those ‘hapless’ boys and girls will find their transient temptations endorsed by the state and end up in practices which in a more Godly age they would not even have known about. So their lives will be altered, set on a course sadly damaging for them and society. In short, boys are being groomed for older men and girls for older women to take advantage of them. It’s a pretty sick society that would encourage that.

Oh, no; look who else is on the warpath. Homosexuals can “get saved”!

David (Upton) was involved in homosexuality for many years and was told that he couldn’t change, but he did through the power of the Gospel. His testimony can be viewed on http://www.illbehonest.com.

These people are beyond a joke.

  6. Cali Ron says:

Lively and Dr. Reisman (I assume her doctorate is in Institutionalized Intolerance and Hate) are perfect examples of the hypocrisy of religion. All that BS about loving one another goes right out the window when it comes to gays or other groups they are paranoid of. Like the good book says, love one another, except for gays, and Jews, and atheists, and etc.

I have been reading about the incandescent fury, and the desire for the most condign punishments, of gays by Christians – usually of a fundamentalist character. I still don’t understand why gays rouse in them this amazing level of fury. Is there something in the bible that they have got hold of?

Compared to some comments I have read the attitude of these Christians to atheists is relatively benign. They do want us in hell. But with gays there is a violence, a fury and an avalanche of threats that indicates people gone berserk and completely out of control. What triggers this? What can they possibly gain by these threats? Why can’t they just let life go on without going crazy on this subject?

Not only Christians, Broga. Did you spot this tragic case of a Muslim doctor driven to suicide by his mother? (Thanks to M A Chohan for the link)

Bout’ time someone charges these fanatics with what amounts to instigating “Hate Crimes”. Over in the state of Kansas (USA), the next time one of their religious flock kills an abortion doctor they need to charge the church pastor or priest with a hate crime, and all the followers of that church for offering financial support to their hate cult…that should clip their wings.

The problem with Kansas is that many of their religious politicians support all anti-abortion groups in privet, and in some cases publicly…best way to get elected in Kansas.

  10. Broga says:

@Barry Duke: I had not read about that sad death. So much misery, alienation and tension because one group of people don’t conform with the opinions another.

  11. Robster says:

That completely silent and universally invisible jesus fantasy these hate filled preachers follow is doing just one thing (apart from remaining completely silent and invisible) well and that is to act as an excuse for the hate filled nonsense these silly little men with too much time on their hands espouse. Why aren’t they feeding the homeless or something equally valuable, rather than telling lies and whipping up undeserved hate for other people who don’t conform to their narrow (stone-age) values?

  12. Paul Cook says:

If some one is wronged by another, there is a reason to be angry and as a human response to dislike them, even to ‘hate’ them. But to hate people you don’t know, because you think they are doing something so awful, it ‘hurts’ the sensibilities, the mind, the entire wellbeing, yet have little idea what that ‘something’ is – except to speculate, or conjure up images of these people engaged in doing….(I don’t know what….), to fuel that hate seems to be only the behaviour of the deeply religious.
In some, not in all, deeply religious, this hate seems to control their every facet of life, the immense sense of injustice, provoking hatred, bile, the dreadful thoughts, the murderous intent, how do these people get through the day without having heart failure.

  13. Ex Patriot says:

Paul Cook These hate filled sub humans with maybe one or two working brain cells among all of them cannot have a heart failure because they don’t have a heart only a pump with no feeling except for their own pathetic litle lives such as they are. They are all a waste of space and oxygen and the world would be better off with out them. I hope the asswipe loses in court badly
