Israeli paper erases women protesters

Israeli paper erases women protesters

The Charlie Hebdo protest march across Paris yesterday included more than 40 world leaders, including a number of women, as the photo above shows.

But when the picture, originally provided by wire service GPO, came into possession of  the Israeli newspaper, The Announcer, ultra-Orthodox censors promptly applied crude Photoshop techniques to edit out the females, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini.

Below is the edited version on the front page of the paper.

    unbefuckinglievable

Sadly, completely believable. How can you not insult religion when its this stupid.

  3. Broga says:

You can’t get much more petty, stupid and bigoted than this. What do they hope to achieve? The irony is that Angela Merkell carries more influence than most of the men together. Even with the women excluded I still couldn’t spot our very own man child Dave who loves to be at the front. I hope they haven’t hurt his feelings.

  4. Lurker111 says:

Islam carries its own baggage and problems, but ultra-Orthodox jewry deserves ridicule of an order I haven’t yet seen. Even the nut-bag beliefs of Mormonism and Scientology pale in comparison.

  5. Cali Ron says:

Now if they could just figure out how to Photoshop the Palestinians out of their ”
holy” land. WTF, are women with power and a brain such a threat to them they have to pretend they don’t exists? Talk about denial. They are a good example of the fact that religion can make people do incredibly stupid shit, for centuries and never think, “why am I doing this stupid shit, oh well, time to indoctrinate my children to do the same stupid shit”.

Just a week ago there was a story about Jewish men delaying flights because they refused to sit next to Women! And who can forget the moron who wrapped himself in a big plastic bag while on an Aircraft. Religions are trying to out-compete each other in the stupidity stakes and they wonder why we quite rightly ridicule them.

  7. Newspaniard says:

I bet the French president didn’t know that he was standing next to one of the terrorists who financed these atrocities. Hamas is there too according to the TV reports. (NO! NOT the Transvestite Times)

  8. andym says:

Sparing the feelings of the religious, as more and more and more people are coming out the woodwork to say that is what Charlie Hebdo should be doing. Proponents of self-censorship are never consistent about just to whom and when this so-called respect should be shown.

  9. AgentCormac says:

Why, exactly, did they go to so much trouble? Are they trying to prevent their readership from knowing that the world has women leaders? Or like islam, is it unthinkable that jewish men should be able to see women’s faces in case it turns them into slavering sex hounds? Then again, maybe all those men and women linking arms probably makes for a billion sins – but how would editing out the women after the event make amends? I am as confused as these people are clearly rabid misogynists.

If only Golda Meir was PM today, what would these gilipollas do then?

    Difference between the various religions….
The level of absolute bat-schite crazy stupidity!!!
and to some degree their sense of violence.

OT but the BBC showed the Charlie Hebdo new cover on the news tonight. Can we hope the kowtow to religion channel are changing their ways?

  14. AgentCormac says:

OT but I see the BBC has finally decided to stop pandering to the inane sensitivities of islam by displaying an image of mo. It’s the front cover of the next edition of Charlie Hebdo. Who knows, perhaps we have turned a corner after all.

Well, that is at least two of us living in hope AC.

Huffington post has reprinted as well,as have the “i” newspaper. I began to think on Wednesday afternoon the effects of the assault could be paradoxical.

It was reported that the cover will be portrayed widely in the media, so I look forward to that. The BBC said that the editorial advice referred to by David Dimbleby in last week’s Question Time was out of date, and that they now placed no restriction on the publication of images of Mohammed.

His announcement did cause some consternation at the time!

  18. Idan says:

Two notes to facilitate the discussion:
    – This newspaper is read only by the ultra-orthodox community in Israel – the large majority of Israelis have never read it. A large number of them have never heard of it.

    – Say what you will about ultra-orthodox Judaism (and I have a lot to say about them too…) but if the worst they do is photoshop women out of photos, that’s pretty tame.

    As you were.

  19. Robster says:

How do these people reproduce? If they can’t cope with an image of females, they’re hardly going to pop into bed with one and get intimate. What does jewish porn look like? Must be pictures of lonely men having a wank. Exciting stuff.

  20. Ex Patriot says:

The needle on the stupid meter just went off the chart. Just wait one of the others will come up with something as or more so stupid as this. It appears to be contest to see who can be the dumbest of the dumb.
I might also add that the women they cut from the picture have more brains in their little fingers than the whole orthodox jewish community put together.,
