Kim Davis: ballad for a banged up bigot

More than 14,000 views in three days and rising fast – a rollicking YouTube video called ‘Shut up and do your motherfucking job’.

The honky-tonk number was was created by Sandy and Richard Riccardi to mark the incarceration of anti-gay religious zealot Kim Davis, who is now claiming that that marriage licenses issued without her authority on Friday to gay couples in Rowan County, Kentucky, are void and “not worth the paper they are written on” because she didn’t authorise them.

the abomination is same-sex relationships is sexual contact. why do you think you are harboring an immoral act and would deserve hell, I forgot your born again. its the same-sex love relationships members who are in need of love from your trinity of fouls and your love. its not your sin. Lady just pray on it and it will fix your transgression if you really believe you are sinful.
I believe you have found the golden egg as the pizza place and the bakery and their windfall of financial security.

As a defiant Kentucky clerk sat in jail Friday, choosing indefinite imprisonment over licensing gay marriages, her lawyers approached the microphones outside and compared her to Dr Martin Luther King.

Around the country, other supporters reached for biblical heroes, comparing her to Silas and Daniel, imprisoned for their faith and rescued by God.

It’s precisely the narrative gay rights advocates had hoped to avoid. But as Davis’ mugshot rocketed around the internet, it became clear that the gay rights movement must battle this idea that Christianity is under siege, said Kenneth Upton, senior counsel for Lambda Legal, a law firm specializing in LGBT issues.

“This is what the other side wants,” Upton said, pointing to the image of Davis in handcuffs. “This is a biblical story, to go to jail for your faith. We don’t want to make her a martyr to the people who are like her, who want to paint themselves as victims.”

“I think he was trying to make an example of Kim Davis, and he may well do so,” said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, which lobbies against gay marriage. “Courage breeds courage, especially when it comes from unlikely places. She may be the example that sparks a firestorm of resistance across this country.”

Loved the video! At over 30,000 hits now.

“She may be the example that sparks a firestorm of resistance across this country.” Are there enough county clerks who refuse to issue marriage licenses based on religious convictions in America to create a firestorm. There may be a lot of religious nutters who agree, but most are not in a position to persecute LBGT people like this twit. The firestorm should be from the majority of Americans who want her to shut up and do her job or just go away.
