‘Notorious Islamophobe’ will pray at Trump’s inauguration

Reports that Franklin Graham, left, will be praying alongside Donald Trump on Friday when the numbskull with the haystack hairdo becomes the 45th President of the the US has upset the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

CAIR, according to this report, wants him dropped from the line-up professional god-botherers who will be present at the inauguration ceremony, the most contentious since the election of Richard Nixon and George W Bush.

CAIR’s National Executive Director Nihad Awad described the outspoken conservative pastor and son of evangelist Billy Graham as a “notorious Islamophobe” and added:

If President-elect Trump truly seeks to unite our nation as he promised in his acceptance speech, he will limit the list of those offering prayers at the inauguration to religious leaders who work to bring us together, not to create divisions between faiths.

Rev Graham’s ill-informed and extremist views are incompatible with the Constitution and with American values of religious liberty and inclusion.

A statement from CAIR pointed to comments from Graham in which he called Islam:

A very evil and wicked religion.

Graham also claimed Islam is incompatible with American values. He wrote on Facebook in 2015.

Every Muslim that comes into this country has the potential to be radicalised – and they do their killing to honour their religion and Muhammad.

And he once told CNN:

True Islam cannot be practiced in this country. You can’t beat your wife. You cannot murder your children if you think they’ve committed adultery or something like that, which they do practice in these other countries. I don’t agree with the teachings of Islam and I find it to be a very violent religion.

Graham is set to pray alongside Hispanic evangelical Samuel Rodriguez and prosperity preacher Paula White. The mainline religious traditions will be represented by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Rabbi Marvin Hier and Bishop Wayne T Jackson.

Meanwhile, it’s reported here that “like angels from heaven”, hundreds of “prayer warriors” have descended on Washington DC to undertake a crucial mission: to protect Trump by building a “prayer shield” around him ahead of his inauguration.

Among these “prayer warriors” are the members of a new group called POTUS Shield (as in President of the United States).

Pastor Eric Majette from Virginia Beach, Virginia said the POTUS Shield is composed of pastors from all over America.

We’re actually a prayer group. We pray for leaders across our nation – a group of pastors come together to pray for our nation and our leaders, particularly the new administration.

Alveda King, the niece of famed civil rights leader Dr Martin Luther King, Jr and the director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, said they are counting on God to bring sweeping positive changes to America.

We’re really not looking for Mr Trump or any human to change America, but we know God can and will do it.

    Graham is correct, of course, Islam is a very evil and wicked religion, it has much in common with Christianity.

What these joyless fuckwits don’t understand is that no amount of divine esperato is going to save us when Dumb Trump starts throwing his nuclear weight around.     Islamophobe is a pejorative term invented, by those that support islam, to discredit anyone who thinks and says that “islam is a force for evi”l is irrational and prejudiced against it. It is in the same league as calling someone a racist for expressing negativity towards islam.

    Take a look at the news on any day of the week and you will find ample evidence of islamic diplomacy extreme indiscriminate hair trigger violence. Islam is a force for evil. It is bent on the destruction of everything to pave the way for global fundamentalist islamification. Its a force worse than those of Nazism, Stalinism and the regimes of mass muderers like Pol Pot.

    CAIR is a nasty subversive organisation the sole aim of which is the islamification of the USA. Trump would do his country a great service to eliminate it.

    Religion really does poison everything. But islam is truly evil.

    I will be interested to see its effect if DT does not make it past 6 months once in office.
    Irrespective of his idiotic & dangeous behaviour – they did vote for him. It’s no different to the idiots we have in Britain and by that I mean all of them (except the Lords as they don’t need votes just a lot of gravy train riding and back scratching).

But he simply cannot admit that christianity too is a nasty cult but one that has lost its energy for violence.     Trump and his appointees seem determined to destroy the environment including the slaughter of wild animals for entertainment. They are against gun control. They want to develop “better” nuclear weapons.

    And good Christian Trump and his buddies appear to regard women as inferior human beings and sexual playthings to be groped at will. I suppose they see this juvenile behaviour as macho.

    Despite their posturing they are the dregs of society. If their actions only affected themselves they could be left to themselves. However, their opinions and actions could severely damage or even destroy the rest of us.

    Matt: Spot on. He’s right about Islam, but he IS also an “Islamophobe” because even if Islam were a force for good in the world, he would still label it “evil”. It is not the “true faith”, so it is irredeemably bad, and in view of some of the atrocities carried out in the name of Jesus over the centuries, that really does take the biscuit!

Yet you keep insisting in this and previous posts that “We” were just as bad centuries ago. What has that got to do with the present century apart from islamofascists performing acts which would have been praised in the 7th century and which the remainder (6 billion or more) of us simply abhor. Trying to justify muslim’s actions by comparing them with events centuries ago is a total distraction and unworthy of attention.

You only need go back as far as the Second World War in the Balkans, but Muslims were as murderous there too, and, as I have said before, it’s not all religiously motivated; more a case of religion being used to justify the slaughter and fuel the conflict. The same with India during Partition. It’s often complicated, but religion is definitely a factor.

    I don’t see how anyone that ascribes to freethought could think Trump will “make America great again”, the man is a pathological liar and a textbook narcissist. Further I don’t see how someone can call Hillary a crook and not see the irony in supporting a man whose main skill in business is to have absolutely no scruples. Just think, if Trump gets impeached, the US government will essentially be controlled by an assortment of Christian dominionists, racists, and various fringe nutters.
