Woman arrested over beach exorcism of her daughter, 11

Police in Ferndale, California, have commended the actions of a man who intervened when Kimberly Felder, 45, attacked her daughter on a beach.

According to this report, Felder stripped her child naked on Centreville Beach yesterday and shoved handfuls of sand in the child’s eyes and mouth. Officials said Felder stated she was trying to free her daughter from demons.

She reportedly continued the assault by viciously striking, biting and choking her child while a crowd of 10 to 12 people stood by watching. At that point John Marciel, a local citizen, stepped in and immediately tried to restrain Felder from further hurting the child.

Police said that two struggled on the ground while Felder continued the assault by hitting the child on the head with a piece of driftwood.

A deputy arrived on scene shortly after and was able to pull Felder from the child and was handcuffed. Officials said Marciel tended to the child while deputies controlled Felder. EMT’s arrived and on scene and took the child to a hospital for further treatment to injuries. Deputies said the child sustained severe damage to her right ear.

Felder was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, felony child abuse and aggravated mayhem.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office said they would like to offer special thanks to Marciel. If it were not for him, deputies said the child would likely have been killed by her mother.

The Sheriff’s Office is also requesting that Marciel be recognised for a Red Cross Life Saving Award.

10 to 12 people just stood and watched while she attacked a child. Un-fucking-believable!

More attacks on the freedom of religion.

According to David McAfee’s interview with Marciel, this woman was not carrying out a proper exorcism, as she had no holy water, crosses or relics. That explains everything!

WTF?! Doesn’t these persons are capable of diferenciate a parent disciplinating a kid from one abusing it? Or maybe they were afraid of the deranged woman?

I offer a bounty of $50 sent to the charity of the winner’s choice to demonstrate where, in the Protestant Bible or in Roman Catholic tradition, the belief that demons exist is pronounced a false belief.

Pending that, individual Christians may continue to believe the bits they like and ignore the bits they don’t, further their faith’s progress to a secular social club.

The DEPUTY was handcuffed? Spellcheck is not proofreading.

Poor kid, mum’s gonna be locked up, perhaps the best outcome for the child of severely deluded parents.
