Pastor’s Sunday tweet sends titters though the blogosphere

Pastor’s Sunday tweet sends titters though the blogosphere

When Tennessee pastor Greg Locke posted the picture above on Twitter at the weekend the imbecile did so without thinking how much mirth it would generate.

But Locke, of the Global Vision Bible Church doesn’t appear to do much thinking at all.

Example: Back in 2015, he branded religious history classes in Wilson County as “Islamic indoctrination“.

Wilson County Schools Director Donna Wright said Locke was trying to incite parents.

No one in any Wilson County School is teaching any indoctrination of Islam or of any world religion for that matter. To imply or state otherwise shows a lack of knowledge about the standards used in our schools.

Wilson County Schools Deputy Director of Academics Monty Wilson pointed out  that all of the major world religions were covered in history class.

Another example: In June Locke announced in a video that he was coming out of the closet … as a Christian.

I’m coming out about the fact that I’m not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ cause it’s the power of God unto salvation. I’m coming out of the closet that I’m not ashamed of the word of God. It is the infallible, indescribable, incomparable book about all books from Genesis to Revelation, it is the word of God. I’m coming out of closet about the fact that I believe in one man, one woman for life. I believe in a biblical vow of marriage.

This prompted media personality Montel Williams to hit back by tweeting:

You are an idiot devoid of any spiritual merit – perhaps you should be asking whether you want to be baked or broiled in hell?

He then followed that up with another tweet suggesting that Locke might be in the closet about his sexuality as well.

Yup people like @pastorlocke who are so obsessed with marginalizing #LGBT people are usually in the closet or into little boys.

Just like Britain’s own Stephen (Birdshit) Green, methinks, who attacked the BBC a few days ago:

Today is the fiftieth anniversary of the legalisation of sodomy. Consequently, the BBC will be unwatchable and unlistenable for a week at least.

Does Stephen Green have any views on how husbands should treat their wives?

  2. L.Long says:

The above paragraph by June Locke, illustrates their absolute level of pure BS! She is a pure LIAR4jesus and totally delusional in that she understands nothing in her book o’BS! She is a true reflection of the xtian who BELIEVES they are right but KNOWS nothing important!

Broga: Moot point, I would think, though he doubtless agrees with “Evangelist”, who was scathing recently about Joy Harris who “brought the Gospel into disrepute by whining to the coppers.”

Like Green, “Evangelist” (we all know who he is) refers to gay people as “sodomites” etc., yet in the comments section of the above article Birdshit has the audacity to reprimand someone with this:

…we don’t apply unkind words to people here.

You couldn’t bloody make it up!

L.Long: It’s Greg Locke posting an article in June!

You are right that to talk about a “biblical vow of marriage” just shows how little of the Bible he has actually read.

  5. Paul says:

Where do these people come from in the USA ?
Ffs! How in this day and age do they still believe this. Incredible.
And birdshit – I love this bit :-
“The homosexual mindset is never satisfied. Neither with life as a whole, nor with sexual expression, nor indeed with political gains. It was never enough just to be left alone to do whatever they were going to do in private. ”
Absolutely. Practice what you preach – stay in private and do what you want to yourself and leave us alone, in peace.

The Global Vision Bible Church. Really? What’s the betting Locke doesn’t possess a passport, has never left Tennessee and couldn’t point to Europe on a map of the world, even if he had such thing (which I very much doubt he does).

One of the best you tube around for de-bunking Christianity is probably Non Stamp Collector.

I have to admit to (sometimes) feeling sorry for these bible freaks whose personalities make one cringe. They have obviously swallowed the entire religious thing without once questioning or doubting its validity. What could there be in their psychological makeup that stops them from asking those simple, searching questions that any person, with even the vaguest hint rational awareness, asks themselves? I just don’t get it. It’s like choosing to believe in a brick wall, and once the choice is made there’s no going back, no doubt, no niggling suspicion that maybe the bricks and mortar are not divine after all – no, the wall is god, and that’s that.

  10. Cali Ron says:

Agent Cormac: Of course he doesn’t. Everything christians need to know is in the bible (KJV only ). Ironically, most christians really know very little about it, mostly going by whatever their clergy say. Some people are ignorant because of circumstances beyond their control, but christians choose to be ignorant. All that smug posturing and holier-than-thou attitude can’t cover their delusion and foolishness.

It’s a hoot when chatting with the god besotted and referring to their belief system(s) as fairy tales. They get really upset, the reverend next door, extremely upset, the gaggle of passing JW’s and those yet to shave mormon “elders”, they get threatening, usually the hell nonsense or a biff in the head! That silly Frank the pope said a week or two ago that he gets upset with people that refer to his chosen fairy as a magic sky fairy! Yep, the silly thing did, without recognising the irony.

  12. latsot says:

Ugh, Green. I keep trying to forget about him. There’s strong competition but he’s one of the most just plain nasty examples of his type. Every word drips with it, making:

…we don’t apply unkind words to people here.
You couldn’t bloody make it up!

    … especially ironic.

He also admonishes someone in the comments for not being as open minded as he is.

Someone might be able to make it up, but I couldn’t.

  13. John the Drunkard says:

‘Where do these people come from in the USA ?’
Mostly from the Confederate States. They still think they won. And under Republican administrations the historical revisionism has let them get away with it.

  15. Marcus says:

Homophobic halfwit Stephen Green quotes gay intellectual giant Oscar Wilde? Oh my ears and whiskers!

  16. Old Nick says:

I just clicked on the “Stephen Green” link, to be told by Sky Broadband Shield that has been blocked because of “Weapons, Violence, Gore and Hate”!!
    Fine by me!

  17. 1859 says:

Soooo…methinks we have a sly troll in our midst. Fine by me. However, it seems this particular troll is content with posting cryptic comments that are intended to leave people dangling with oh-so-intelligent waffle that’s pregnant with nothing but self-conceit, rather than trying to rationally debate with the opposition. This is one of the shallow tactics of the insecure.

  18. barriejohn says:

@1859: I am amazed at the poor souls who try to engage in rational debate with Green. I saw that this was impossible when someone asked him about the vestigial limbs which whales have and his reply was, “They don’t”. Where do you go from there? However, I note that a prominent thinker by the name of Bob Hutton has posted a comment on the thread referred to in this article:

God is not mocked, whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap – Galatians 6v7

There you are – it says it in the Bible so it must be so!

  19. Broga says:

barriejohn: The problem for Bob Hutton is that his God may not be the true God. Someone else’s God may have decided they don’t like Hutton’s beliefs and have him lined up for the Pit.

They are all, of course, the products of human fantasies conjured up to provide solutions to by- gone mysteries. Every time science makes another discovery the God of the gaps retreats.
