Pastor’s hand ‘accidentally’ slipped into a woman’s panties

Pastor’s hand ‘accidentally’ slipped into a woman’s panties

Police in Michigan are reportedly investigating Mitch Olson, above, senior pastor at Grace Ministry Center in Kimball, who has been accused of sexually assaulting a former parishioner during an anointing session to cleanse her of ‘sexual sins’.

According to this report, his alleged victim is Justine Morden, 20, inset, who trusted Olson to help her find forgiveness for her sins. Morden said she sought counsel from Olson about changing her life and he suggested she be anointed to cleanse her of her sins.

He told her he didn’t have anointing oil at the church during a meeting in July 2016 but would eventually make time to get her anointed. He then came to her home, oil at the ready.

A police report lodged with local authorities said:

Olson then said a prayer and placed oil on her head, Olson then did the same on (her) shoulders. Olson then asked if he could put the oil on her breasts (she) said yes and Olson put his hand down the front of (her) shirt making skin to skin contact with (her) breasts. Olson then put oil on (her) stomach/mid-section. Olson then asked he could put oil on (her) buttock, (she) responded yes.

Olson then put his hand down the back of (her) pants and made skin to skin contact with (her) buttock cheeks. Olson then asked if he could put oil on (her) pubic area (front of pants), (she) responded yes. Olson then put his hand down the front of (her) pants and made skin to skin contact with (her) pubic region. Olson then touched (her) knees and ended with her feet.

Morden explained that it wasn’t until she told her mother about the anointing session that she realised the anointing she received wasn’t standard practice.

When I explained it to my mom, she said it wasn’t right. I believed it was what really had to be done, but he grabbed, groped my boobs.

After that, she started a public campaign against Olson to protect other women from experiencing what happened to her.

It’s the worst feeling ever and I don’t want anyone to experience that.

When investigating detective Eric Stevens from the St. Clair County Sheriff Department asked Grace Ministry Center board member Gordon Farnsworth “did the anointing involve Mitch anointing (her) breasts, butt cheeks, and pubic/pelvic region?” Farnsworth replied:

Yes, with the qualifier that the intent and extent of the touching is the point of disagreement between (Olson) and (her).

Farnsworth claimed there was inconsistencies with the narrative Morden has been sharing with the public.

…. There was a lot of discrepancy as far as the story goes … and (the board) did not feel there was an intent of a lustful nature. Knowing (Olson) for several years and seeing what he has done for the community … He has gone out of his way to help people and lead people to Christ. I truly feel in my heart he was trying to help this young lady. I do feel there was poor judgment that he went over (to her apartment) without anyone else there, but I feel the situation was taken out of context … Many lives have been hurt through this whole thing.

Former Assistant Pastor Justin Mcburney further noted in the report that Olson told him that:

The oil bottle had broken, getting oil all over. Olson said it was possible his hand had slipped and his hand might have gone in her pants. Olson also said he should have not gone over to (her) house.

St Clair County Prosecutor Mike Wendling said the case was being investigated to determine if a crime was committed.

We will contact the victim and discuss the matter with the victim. We may schedule an interview with her to discuss the case. We will review the statute to see if the facts alleged are in violation of Michigan law and then we will move forward with the review.

Olson reported “struggled with pornography” and was confronted about it at another church where he worked.

Dirty dog. Young woman goes to church to fess up her sexual sins (obviouly vulnerable) and he sees it as a geen light and takes advantage. And then the church is all “he seemed so nice”. Bet they don’t have any safeguarding policies.

Yep, seems totally legit, nothing to see here. ffs.

  3. Anthony Baker says:

There it is again … the pious have decreed that sex is dirty and sinful. “Be very very ashamed and grovel before me you sinning whore”. “You have had a sexual encounter without godly consent which can only be bestowed upon you by me, a priestly agent of god on earth, in exchange for your deferrence, obedience and a wad of money. “Or payment in kind by letting me grope up your skirt and a quick bj behind the font”.

I truly feel in my heart that this is bollocks. The “accidental slip” occurred after gradually feeling the “young lady’s” body in increasingly intimate areas.

One should not victim shame. But she was very naive not to have put a stop to this much sooner.

So this is creepy man of religion sexually exploits naive young woman, who was presumably blinded to the reality by the tents of her religion. How could she have thought that this ‘anointing’ could do any good? How could she have believed that there was any good reason for a ceremony to cleanse her sins? Why was she so conditioned that she did not object much sooner.

The answer to all these questions is the same: religious brainwashing.

  6. Neal says:

Not the standard practice? Ya think! This jerk needs to be in jail as he took advantage of the women and sexually assaulted her. He knew exactly what he was doing!

And of course the church is going to stick up for him as they always do! Sickens me!

I have a suggestion for a new collective noun: “Pastor”. A pastor of sexual predators, a pastor of homophobes, a pastor of paedophiles…

  8. L.Long says:

Gullible girl who claims to be sexual and needs cleaning, thinks groping her tits and pussy is OK. No sympathy for either. But according to her, HE STATED what he was to do and she said OK! Now if she said NO!! and he did so anyway, then she has a point. But notice how everything was OK until mom got involved. She was 20!!! And had sexual sins!!! Naive my ass!! He did it, but she said OK!! Imagine how it would be if any guy asked, and she said OK! But then when it was all over she starts yelling rape! Now prove yourself innocent!
The most important point in this is HE ASKED & SHE said OK!!! And by her own story he did not go beyond what he said he would do! And she said OK!!!

  9. H3r3tic says:

L.Long makes an interesting point; the lass is over the age of consent and he asked her permission for everything he did before doing just that. Is it relevant to the law that he was in a position of trust? I’m not sure. If he were a charlatan representing some new age bullshit and asked permission to rub oil into her breasts in order to cleanse her chakras would the legal position be the same? It’ll be interesting to see whether charges are brought.

  10. Daz says:

Gotta say, I agree with L.Long on this one. An adult was asked for consent and gave it, however naively.

There’s a lot to fault here, centring around a culture of religious indoctrination which leads people to give such consent and trust so blindly merely because the person asking is a cleric, but I can’t see how this is a crime in any legal sense.

  11. John the Drunkard says:

‘If you’re a star, they let you do it.’

Apparently ‘pastors’ have the same privilege. The victim’s ‘consent’ only came at the tail-end of a long train of coercion and enforced gullibility.

But then, Aisha ‘consented’ to marrying Mohamed when she was SIX. While ‘consent’ is certainly important, it is only a stepping stone towards actual autonomy and independence.

  12. Anthony Baker says:

Bet the devil made him do it. A few prayers prayed by the gullible flock and a a hand wringing faux apology should see him back on side.

  13. Broga says:

“The oil bottle had broken, getting oil all over. Olson said it was possible his hand had slipped and his hand might have gone in her pants. ”

Quite a good effort this. Could be a new seduction technique for the non religious?

“he suggested she be anointed to cleanse her of her sins.” If she is so innocent and sexually ignorant I wonder what the sins were. “Bad” thoughts instilled in her by religious indoctrination?

  14. Peter Ratcliff says:

    How do you”struggle with pornography”exactly?

  15. Vanity Unfair says:

    To Peter Ratcliff:
Well, sometimes the pages get stuck together.

  16. Robster says:

    Lube your way to eternity?

  17. CoastalMaineBird says:

“sometimes the pages get stuck together.”

Walked right into that one, he did.

  18. Broga says:

Peter Ratcliff : Prayer must be involved somewhere in the struggle.

  19. Peterat says:

Thank you, I am far better informed. I will continue bravely with my struggles!

  20. Nancy says:

She gave her consent. She was already sexually active and so she wasn’t innocent of sexual matters between men and women. Don’t think for one second she didn’t know

  21. barriejohn says:

Nancy: Yes, just like all those perverted priests who have sexually assaulted children. They were ensnared by the evil little monsters, as we have been told on many occasions by Bill Donohue and other apologists for sexual abusers. Why shouldn’t any pastor anoint a woman’s breasts, buttocks and vagina? It seems such an innocent practice! It’s an absolute outrage that the authorities are not going to prosecute this lecherous creep, but then he’s a “Man of God”, isn’t he?

    Nancy:

“She gave her consent. She was already sexually active and so she wasn’t innocent of sexual matters between men and women. Don’t think for one second she didn’t know”

Neither of these things are relevant.

First, yes she gave consent, but was that consent valid? That’s the issue here. If she were tricked (as many people are) into this because of a belief in the guy or his authority, it is still very, very much a sexual assault.

Second, her sexual history has nothing to do with it. The vast majority of people know what their genitals are for prior to ever having sex. But there are people who are sufficiently persuasive and evil to manipulate others into sexual acts anyway.

Third, whether she understood it as sexual assault at the time (your confidence that you know what she knew is misplaced, you *can’t* know that), it would *still* be sexual assault because the guy was doing it under the pretense of some bogus ‘cleansing’ of sin that didn’t even exist to begin with. It would *still* be sexual assault if he tricked her in any way at all or used his authority to convince her to comply.

Which I think we all have to agree that he almost certainly did. It would *still* be sexual assault, even if he actually believed that bullshit himself.
