James Dobson: fast to prevent the President’s impeachment

James Dobson: fast to prevent the President’s impeachment

Certainly some – like the fella above – could do with shedding a stone or two, but it remains to be seen how many of Trump’s supporters will put down their forks in support of a national day of fasting and prayer for the President.

The fast, according to this report, has been proposed by James Dobson, a crackpot American evangelist who founded a right wing anti-LGBT outfit called Focus on the Family in 1977.

Last week, he joined Intercessors for America for is monthly prayer conference call, during which he called on conservative Christians to engage in a day of fasting and prayer against efforts to impeach President Trump.

Dobson, above, said that he “felt sorry for this man” when he and other Religious Right leaders met with Trump in the Oval Office last month because:

So many people obviously hate him … He faces the combined opposition from the mainstream media, from members of Congress – both Democrats and Republicans, not all of them, but many of them – the entertainment industry, [and] the special interest groups who seem determined to bring him down.

Dobson warned:

This country will be in serious trouble if they’re successful in impeaching this man. I’m calling for a nationwide movement to pray for him. I’m calling for a day of fasting and prayer. I hope that Christian people from coast to coast will join in that time; the date is your choosing, but we do need to be praying for our President.

Dobson went on to say that it was obvious that “the Lord played a role in the election of Donald Trump” and that “he was raised up for such a time as this” in order to protect the Supreme Court, the definition of marriage, religious liberty and the sanctity of life.

It seemed evident on election night that the Lord gave us victory. So Lord, if that is true, we ask you to protect our President from anything that could hurt him.

Perhaps they could try to make their fast especially effective by extending it from a single day to several weeks. Perhaps Trump might like too join in, too. I guarantee that the end result would be a much better, safer and more enlightened world. Oh, and just a little less over-populated also.

Looks like the lard arse fuckwit is wearing a Star Spangled Banner Bra for his Man Tits. Prick.
I sometimes think that the USA got the president they deserve. What were they thinking? Trump or Clinton. Is that the best they could put up?
Its tragic when the President of the USA is decided by which is the least worst candidate.
There are loads of capable Americans who would do a tremendous job as president yet the whole system is thoroughly corrupted by religion, media, mega corporations and cartels of self interested rich people.
USA … you are going down and its your own fault.

    Farmer Giles: right on!

As for impeachment, unless the democrats gain a majority in the house of representatives in the 2018 mid-term elections there will be no impeachment since that has to be initiated in the house and the rethugs have a solid majority who have all bought into trump. To be honest the democrats don’t look as if they yet realise why they lost in 2016 and are just proceeding with the same old, same old. They make a big deal of how they defeated roy moore in alabama but don’t seem to realise that it’s a one-off and anybody could have defeated moore. As has been said ‘one swallow don’t make a summer’.

If one ignores the deadly seriousness of all this and likelihood of major war soon, the entertainment value is extraordinarily high even for Washington DC. I’d go back to my native Canada but i wouldn’t last five minutes in the feminist realm of the boy-King…..

  4. L.Long says:

No way I want impeachment! He is a clown car looking for a crash site! But Pence is a religious ahole of the first rank & no way want him in office!!

  5. barriejohn says:

Trump won’t be impeached, so Dobson will be claiming more “answered prayers”. And he’s got a bloody nerve complaining about “special interest groups”!

  6. RIchardW says:

I strongly encourage all Trunp supporters to fast until their hero’s term of office ends.

  7. AgentCormac says:

Know what you’re saying. While Pence isn’t quite as unhinged as the madman Trump on a day-to-day basis, there’s no doubt he’s from the darkest of the dark side in terms of being ‘guided’ by his religious views. Let’s just hope the mid-terms are a wipe-out for the GOP and the US can stumble on until 2020 without too much more damage being inflicted on personal freedoms, censorship, ethnic minorities, basic human values, the environment and indeed the entire world (‘my nuclear button is bigger than yours’).

But right now, that’s all we can do – live in hope.

A lecherous, old man with the narssistic mentality of a petulant, spoiled child has been handed enough war-power to obliterate all life from our planet??

There’s got to be a better way – after all we are homo ‘sapiens’, not homo ‘ignoramus’.

Farmer Giles : Agreed, but England has May, not much different.

  10. StephenJP says:

Praying against impeachment? But nobody’s even started impeachment proceedings yet! So how does this prayer thing work, then? Is it like a flu jab, or maybe a contraceptive? Or does it only work after impeachment has taken hold, like an antibiotic? I think we should be told.

Cali Ron, awful though Theresa May (may) be, she surely has a long way to go to catch up with President Littlehands.

  11. Cali Ron says:

Stephen JP: Yeah, America is still number one for worst democratically elected leader in the western world. I guess that’s what the Republicans mean when they brag about American exceptional ism. (Stupid phone keeps putting a space in the word, argh). Agree that Pence would be worse, he’s a dangerous religious fanatic, intent on bringing the end of the world, whereas, Trump’s all about Trump, dangerous, but only because he’s way to ignorant for that much power. Stroke Trump’s ego often enough and he gets so excited about himself he forgets to do stupid shit like tweet. 3 more years of ignorance and stupidity in the White House to go. Let’s hope his staff hides his Yuge button from him.

  12. Manu-ad-ferrum says:

Just a reminder: 2.8 million more American people voted for Clinton. The crooked Electoral Commission “elected” Trump.

  13. Johan says:

Cali Ron.Your comparison is facile. Trump is so appallingly bad in so many respects. Here’s one. Trump is a compulsive and barefaced liar. And everyone knows that is true. Granted,May and Corbyn are both wanting in many respects but are paragons of virtue and diplomacy compared to the excremental abomination befouling the office of President of the USA.

  14. Broga says:

They are beyond reason or help. Religion has done for them.

  15. barriejohn says:

There’s a suggestion today that, following our apparent retreat from the nuclear brink this week, the owners of the world’s two worst haircuts should share the Nobel Peace Prize. Frankly, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they did!

  16. AgentCormac says:

And Trump is now putting forward proposals that would make it easier for him to start a nuclear war as he applies to ‘loosen constraints on the use of nuclear weapons’. This is really scary stuff.

  17. sailor1031 says:

@manu-ad-ferrum: not so. Despite corrupt pressure put on them, after the election, to vote for Clinton the electors voted as they should have done. It doesn’t matter that more people voted for clinton overall; what matters is how many electoral college votes a candidate gets. Trump got the electoral college votes in states where clinton, because of her own disdain for common people, did not win the popular vote. If you want to win the game you have to know the rules. These rules are written in the Constitution so are available to all candidates equally.

  18. sailor1031 says:

@AC: and where is the congress in all of this? missing in action as usual.

  19. Cali Ron says:

Johan: I already conceded that point in my second post. Trump does take the cake both figuratively and literally, but May has been ineffective, overtly religious and failing as a leader, so certainly nothing to brag about.

As for the electoral college, it is a stupid system whose reason for being no longer exists. Readily available polling stations and mail voting made it obsolete years ago, but neither party will try to change it because it has helped them both to steal elections without a majority of popular votes.

If fasting will prevent impeachment, will eating encourage it?

Here’s a bit of good news from America : President Cunt has cancelled next month’s visit to Great Britain. Maybe we’re one of his “shithole countries”!
