The Freethinker: new website is now live!

Dear reader,
The Freethinker has now officially relaunched. Our new website is live at freethinker.co.uk.
Our site today contains my editor's letter, which sets out the updated direction the magazine will be taking and introduces the new sections and publication schedule.
We also have the 'cartoon of the week' by Paul Fitzgerald, some background about the history of the magazine, and a short article introducing our new mascot, the 'porcus sapiens'.
Further content will be published on a regular schedule, as follows:
- cartoon, image or clip from the archive on Monday
- shorter article on Wednesday
- longer feature on Saturday.
Coming up this week: the Freethinker at war (from the archive); the C of E's latest plans for the Bishops' Bench; and an interview with Maryam Namazie, founder of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain.
From Wednesday, you will be able to subscribe via our payment system. For £15 per year, you will be able to view all comments on articles (the first 4 will be open access), interact with comments and write your own. You will also be able to post events of interest to other readers on our Events page, which will be open access to view only.
We will aim to increase the number of articles published per week as we build momentum and subscribers.
Secular Society is currently in the process of digitising all past issues of the Freethinker from its inception in 1881. When this project is completed, hopefully in the next six months, subscribers will also have full access to the archive.
If you like the magazine, please do share on social media, or via word of mouth. The more readers and subscribers we can gather, the greater will be our scope for development over the long term.
I hope you enjoy the first pages in the relaunched magazine. Do keep an eye out for further content on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. I will also be emailing you every Saturday with a round-up of the past week's articles, and advance notice of the week to come.
