Freethought update - 30 April - 20 May

Dear reader,

May is Humanism Month at the Freethinker. In this update, we bring you a wide-ranging interview with Andrew Copson, Chief Executive of Humanists UK, and an essay by Professor Russell Sandberg on the 'Bill of Frights' and its likely impact on freedom of religion and non-religious belief.

We also delved into the archive to find a curious caricature of the 'progressive' ethicists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries (the forerunners of the humanist movement) - 'those people with an agonisingly efficient conscience.'

New articles
- What I believe: Interview with Andrew Copson
- The Bill of Frights? by Russell Sandberg
- Image of the week: ‘Possessed by Not-Quite-Holy-Spirit’

Coming up later in Humanism Month
Watch this space for:
- Mubarak Bala's oppressive prison sentence and the stoning to death of a Christian student for 'blasphemy'
- the overturning of Roe v Wade and its implications
- an interview with Pragna Patel
... and more.
