Many believe and place faith

In an entity that may take

On a number of names

All of which fall under the same

Description of a higher power

Watching over us, as if inside a tower

Worshipped in the mosque,

In churches and in the synagogue,

Just to list some of the types

Of places, among other sites,

Where religion is a major topic

Of discussion; traditions, saviors, prophets

Mysteries, dates

Of significance, scriptures…each faith

Has its own; some elect to pray, others meditate, 

In effect, to place

A call out to the aforementioned deity

When they feel it needs to be

Called upon; but maybe we exist with no creator

As the atheists say, and won’t meet a maker

In the end, or maybe the humans of Earth

Have foreign origins elsewhere in the universe

As we might’ve been born

In the image of otherworldly life forms

I was raised more or less religious

Then one day I explored Metaphysics

Which further opened my mind

“Will I know when I find

The answers on this plane of existence?” 

The question remains on this end
